If you really study threads like this it quickly becomes apparent what the true situation is. Bias, money, personal relationships and sponsorship drive it. One person is a “fan” of the inventor, one has personal “favorite” manufacturer, one might be getting kickback in one way or another and the next might be “sponsored” by one company or another. I think the average hunter, plinker or competitor is usually a little more candid and up front. Once you’re schmoozing with sponsors or afraid to alienate one, impartiality can out the window. There’s no reason the average person should be afraid to simply say, “I was shooting a Nightforce (or whatever brand) and decided to try the new March or whatever. I can only assume that if you are, then you’re afraid you might lose something or offend the wrong person or entity. Just my opinion.
