I picked up a metal comp one of these out of curiosity recently.

The pistol is nice enough, the comp seems more gimmicky than functional. May yet sell it off and get the non-comp version.
I have good experiences with S&W quality. I first learned a pistol on a .38 snub with my second step-father. Then, later, I had a .38 Police Special with a 4 inch barrel. Then, when I worked in security with a boss who was a sheriff, I carried one of his. The Model 19 K-frame .357 Magnum. NIckel-plated and ivory over-sized grips. That one shot like a dream.

This M&P has a 3 lb trigger pull, which feels fine for me for most handgun ranges.

Rifles? Well if I think there'll be some longer range work, I bring this one.

I call it Vera.

We call ours “The Hose” … Used primarily for when The Shitten tries to pick a fight with one of the other cats, or jumps up onto a kitchen counter.

I used to appendix carry this until I lost too much weight. I have changed to a signalling cannon IWB on my right hip. I had to change from a four pound fuse to a 2 and a half pound fuse and it really made a difference!

My "tactical" reloads were a slight problem. Everyone kept asking me why I had a small garbage can in my left front pocket. Even worse, I carried two reloads! Since I reload with good old fashioned home made black powder, I can hide in the cloud of smoke from my first shot long enough to get a reload done!

concealed carry of my reloads started to become a problem I just don't want to deal with anymore. It hurts my feelings when the "tier one operators" makes fun of me at the local speed shoots.

I'm saving up for a P320, wish me luck!
