Teen calls mom on her boss,... boss shoots mom during argument

I'd be curious to see any video footage available of the incident. I'd want to see if the Mgr. was "under reasonable and imminent threat of death or great bodily harm." I want to see on what legal basis the prosecutor is charging the manager. Then again, this is Illinois, an anti--gun state so I can see the shooter being charged even if it was a "valid" SD claim. Are they being charged for just having an invalid and unegistered weapon, or are they being charged for the shoot itself?

Illinois, so the manager in this story may have been committing a crime by having a gun, or by having it somewhere she was not allowed to have it.

If someone is robbing a bank (committing the crime of bank robbery) and a security guard or customer attacks them, it is not self defence under the law when they shoot that person.

So today Democrat prosecutors often stretch that rule to punish what should be lawful self defence. Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

But if the bank robber is making furtive movements towards the security guard and/or pointing the gun at them, can they still be charged for responding to those movements?

Fuck Illinois.
The manager was being assaulted and defended herself but got arrested for doing so. If you start punching a cop in the face and head will he be charged for shooting you?
Ohh wait, the manager hasn't been indoctrinated. She's now part of the indoctrination.
yup, someone is trying to kill you, you shoot in self-defense, you get arrested...
"Bledsoe was arrested by police and charged with one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon."

I dunno what to say about the 2nd story. Only that the child needs to be taken away from her. She doesn't deserve it. Forced adoption. I'm sure there are plenty of families that would give anything to have/raise a child like that.

As for the first story, it kinda did make me hurl a little. I used to pass through that CTA station all the time while I was living there. It's one of the primary corners of the elevated "Loop" track. It's usually bustling with people, especially around rush hour. And I'd expect nothing different at 10:30p on the 4th of July (ie. people coming home from fireworks displays, etc.). Scary.

When I clicked on the title of the thread I already knew the Amish were involved.

I must be the only one here that is saying WTF would you tell your mommy that your boss made you do anything. That's like the idiots that take their parents to a job interview. (really happened)
hey now...... just showed up to remind the boss how hard of a worker the kid is.. and if refuses to take out the trash, he'll get a whoopin

Moved to Florida from Colorado last August. We only drove my car, the southern route, w/ only some basic clothes and a few guns and some ammo. Wasn't concerned because the route was only through gun friendly states. Put money down on a new build in Titusville in October and closed in April. We flew back to Colorado in late June and loaded a U-Haul with the rest of what we decide we wanted to keep. Mostly my tools, tool chests/benches and my two safes, two gun lockers and the rest of my guns and ammo. A lot of ammo and more than a few guns including some "assault rifles". Took the shortest/fastest route back, only had three days to do this, which was mostly I-70 until we hit Missouri. Have done this drive several times and never recalled needing to cut through the southern tip of Illinois from Missouri to Kentucky. It was late at night and I missed an exit leaving Kansas City. Waze rerouted me and we got back on the interstate and next thing I knew we were in Illinois (thought I was "lost" for a little while). I was more than a tad nervous for the few hours we were in Illinois. I know Federal law is supposed to protect me in this situation but didn't want to FAFO IYKWIM.

mcdonalds in the "Lou" is not the place to be. next day, diff mcdonalds in the STL area:

"Just after 1 a.m. Thursday, a male suspect became upset when an employee asked to see his phone to confirm his mobile order. The suspect left the location, returned with a firearm, and fired shots at the building. He left again and returned a second time with a group of unknown males, who also fired shots at the restaurant.

No injuries were reported. The suspects fled the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

"Police say they have responded to that location nearly 400 times since 2020"

Sounds like a great place for a food desert.
