Trigger should be behind the mag. It's not a bullpup.

Jk

Looks great. Good luck.

Finally got my last pieces in a couple of days ago and screwed it aml together.

Aero Solus obsidian action
Proof 26” 6 Dasgher 1:7.5 twist
Trigger tech diamond
MDT XRS chassis sponge painted out of boredom
Xrs 1350 arca rail
Warne Skyline scope mount
Mk4HD 8-32
Gen 3 Fat Bastard

I’ll probably make some ammo in the morning and go shoot it and see how she acts. I’m not a massive fan of the mk4 even at my price and I have another new in box Cronus BTR that I may swap out for. The mk4 is nice enough but lack of illumination kinda turned out to be a thing I DO miss a lot reticle when shooting g steel against a wooded background.

I have like 3lbs of Varget and 8 lbs of the new shooters world “the creed”. I’m using Norma brass and Berger 105’s, just haven’t decided which powder to use. The creed is supposedly really close to RL15 but I can find no load data for it yet on a dasher.

May start 10% low from the RL15 loads and try it or maybe just go with varget like 93.965% of dasher shooters do…..

Culmination of a year or so….setting up my tool head to reload, didn’t want to get going until I had my rifle in hand.

Borden Mountaineer action, r/h bolt & l/h port, timed by Jim with a TT Diamond on a hanger.

Schneider stainless 1-7 medium contour at 28”, threaded 5/8-24 for a TBAC Gen2 Ultra 9 with a timed brake/adapter.

JAE chassis Cerekoated by BMC Custom Coatings then returned to Alamo Precision Rifles who chambered it in 6XC, threaded it on both ends, assembled and bedded into the chassis plus tuned the trigger.

It’s got an ARC M-Brace mount for the ZCO840 scope and as soon as I spin up some ammo I’ll see how it all shakes out.

I used a great friends almost exact rifle last year shooting prairie dogs in SD and that’s why this….115gr DTAC’s obliterated many at 650-750yds.

Can you tell me more about the mag block you have on the JAE? Is that a gray ops or one you had made for it bc it looks like it was made just for it. Any pics or who to get them from if made specifically? Thanks

I have really enjoyed the bipod ext. Not sure why more folks do not use the archimedes lever whether in chassis like yours of clipped/ clamped to rail. How is your rifle shooting?

Nothing special here, but I call it my high mileage REM 700. That’s because the action has been around to several of the best gunsmiths in the country. LRI. SAC (2x). SPR. This journey started in 2018 as a bare action that was going to build it into a precision rifle. I spent waaaay too much money on it, but it snowballed out of control. Since then, I’ve been buying Zermatt Origin actions (have 4 now) for my precision builds. I’ve probably spent twice (or more) on this Rem 700 over what an Origin costs. Lesson learned. I won’t do that again. The barrel is a Hawk Hill Marksman contour and is chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. I recently picked up a MPA ESR chassis (tungsten) and while it won’t replace my Matrix Pro chassis I use on my PRS rigs, it’s a nice option.

Operation TRG restoration is pretty much complete. This was one of my worse used purchases. It was sold as “minor rust on the mags but everything else sweet” - after receiving it I discovered a horribly corroded barrel, bolt that was rusty and corroded, with the ejector and extractor springs 80% pure rust, a stock that had a few coats of miserable rattlecan on it, missing hardware, and yes, some trashed mags haha.

While I probably should have sent it back, it ended up being a bit of a restoration project, and this is what I ended up doing.

- replacement new takeoff 6.5cm TRG barrel
- @lumleyarms bolt handle, which I bent.
- bolt fluting to remove as much of the surface corrosion as possible
- @krg_ops Folding TRG buttstock
- full tear down, soak, blast, and fresh dark Cobalt cerakote on the metalwork.
- fresh coat of Highland Green on the forend and grips.
- replaced the extractor/ejector springs

I wish I’d taken more “before” photos - but I went straight into “fix it” mode when it arrived. While it would have been WAY easier to send it back and spend a bit more on a clean TRG, at least we bought it back from the death.

Great stuff but I feel for you. I recently had a similar experience

I was on a streak with all these barn find old new stock rifles and than it happened…….. poorly listed item with only one pic but after a long phone conversation I was assured by one of the dealer personal that the gun was lightly used and well maintained …… ya figure how bad could a 308 be

The whole deal started bad …. The rifle got lost for 10 days. USPS is very bad these days

They first told me it was shipped …. Than I was told it was at my FFL ….. than I was told fed ex accidentally picked it up with a USPS label and they were holding it. Miraculously it arrived on day 11 and was packaged poorly and the box was beat up

Upon inspection the gun was beat to shit. Damaged crown …. Chamber looked like it was worked on with a power drill and a wire brush. The barrel was badly pitted . I dont think they ever cleaned the barrel …. The copper ran out of it and exposed a shot rifle

The bore scope made me sick. I immediately had my ffl overnight it back UPS the way a gun should be shipped called them in the am and said the gun would be back to them by 10 am and i expected a refund bt 12

Even though they said all sales were final and no refunds Amex confirmed a refund shortly after noon

If the guy didn’t represent the rifle completely opposite of what it was i would not have been so pissed

Amazes me of how people treat a good gun

I was glad I did a few days later I found a 26 inch barrel the first was 20 digi cam rifle that was never shot and i am impressed it wants to shoot
I commend you on the project
