Optic question

This may sound stupid, so I apologize in advance...but has anyone had a serious look at what Leapers is doing currently? I was on their sight trying to get a warranty done for a customer and saw that they make a $3000 FFP optic.

Did they really step up their game from the Walmart/Amazon special?

I hope that is just their advertised mark. They have always been a “Good” scope but not a NightForce good and definitely not a ZCO/TT great

The scope I'm trying to replace is an older 4x32 mounted on an SKS. It's held up for almost 20 years before it wouldn't hold zero anymore.

Integrix is a new sub-brand for them. They plan to eventually make them in the US and they are looking very promising.

You didn't get the memo? You, me, anybody can contract out to a Japanese (LOW) manufacturer the specs we want in an optic to sell.

Putting a 6-36 on an sks seems like putting nitto grapplers on a toyota tercel but this is the land of the free

Oh hell no. That's definitely a case of way too much scope for the rifle

. Just trying to get it replaced with the modern equivalent. They no longer make the scope that is on the rifle.

Integrix scopes have nothing to do with LOW.

Reminds me a little of when Bushnell introduced the elite tactical, I think street price was around $1250 for the DMR and there were many naysayers because that was a lot of money for a Bushnell back then. Will be curious where these end up over time.

That's fine. I was just making the point any company of any name can task an optics maker to make a scope to whatever level they want. Stamp their name on it.

Travel is listed as up 19, down 13.5. If there's something blocking 5.5 mils of elevation that makes total erector travel space 38 mils in a 34mm tube. Sounds like it would be light because it has a lot of air instead of glass in it. (Small diameter erector)

That is very true.

In terms of the Integrix, the early models are built in Taiwan, but what appears to be a new OEM. They are also building the new Mepro scopes. It is not entirely clear to me if Leapers owns it or has partial interest in it. It sounded like they are more than just a customer, but I could be wrong.

As of a few months ago, they were building a cleanroom at their facility in Michigan and planning to assemble production Integrix scopes in the US.
