Totally agree. Clase Azul is crazy smooth, but Cantera Negra really holds its own for the price. Feels like a hidden gem!
Chem engineers and additives is what got me off Clase Azul. Never really noticed until I started paying attention. Don Anibal 8 yr AE. Fucking 🔥

Best friend brought this over and in my opinion it is quite dangerous! Very light and a sweet taste. No doubt from the maple stuff...we had a few brewskis and as always..walked him to the end of the yard and watched him stumble up his steps and into his house.

Any booze hounds recognize this drink..?

I Sir do not recognize that bottle.

But I damn sure recognize Maple 🍁 syrup and whiskey together.

Old fashioned made with the best real maple syrup is a fine thing.

I like a stout barrel proof rye whiskey with the normal old fashioned fixings and use premium maple syrup and some good cherries 🍒.

A treat for when you want something besides rocks or a strait pull from the bottle..

Some stuff is so good you don't want the taste of a glass, right.

High proof whiskey and a shooter of maple syrup? Hummmmm
 
Demand dropping significantly. When I went to KY in 2024, Wild Turkey was doubling production to keep up with export demand. I’d almost wonder if that new duplicate distillery is dormant
 
Green Chartreuse over ice, Pernod over ice and finally a High West Barreled Boulevardier over ice. Not touched the latter bottle in a long while but kept it in the fridge and hit it with nitrogen/argon wine preserver each time. It has held up just fine.
