Impact 737R vs Terminus Zeus

Looking to build a SA Multi Cal set up. Had planned to go Zeus with proof prefits until they announced they’re no longer in that market. Now I’m debating going for the 737R with prefit availability vs having barrel spun up by SJA for the Zeus. I hadn’t looked a whole lot into the 737 until the proof announcement and have read a lot of good stuff on their actions but not a ton on the 75* bolt.

I like the thought of the Zeus QC set up and it matching my Delta 5 duty gun 60* throw.

Any advice on why I should or shouldn’t go with one vs the other?

I have several 737Rs and one Zues QC. Both are great actions, but I like the Impact better. Does that mean I regret getting the Zues, definitely not. I went with the Zues for a very specific build, a 22 Creedmoor. I wanted a way to change worn out barrels at the drop of a hat. I figure I have 600-700 on a barrel and shoot 2k a year. On a more sensible caliber I would go Impact all the way. I like the bolt force and feed better on the 737R.
On a different note, why are you set on a Proof? They are good, but there are a number of more competitive barrels out there. Too each their own.

This might end up being a cross over episode with the barrel torque thread but...

If you are looking for the ability to change on the fly with minimal tools/effort, the Zeus QC is what I went with for one of my fun builds.

If you are changing barrels with a wrench to get some proper torque, you can go with whatever action you want... at that point, start looking at other features like mag compatibility or long term reviews. I would personally go with an Impact if I were building a comp gun. Considering most people with switch barrel setups leave a single barrel on for 90%+ of the time, this is what I would recommend overall.

Expert voice pricing is pretty enticing for the proofs and them being in stock and ready to ship is why I was leaning toward them versus having them spun up by a builder and them taking 6 months (I know some are shorter but that seems to be normal nowadays). I really haven’t deep dove into the barrel world, just seen a lot of good reviews on SJA so I would probably go with them.

I haven’t got into Barrel swapping bolt guns but it seems pretty straight forward with custom actions and prefits. Just need to pick up a better Torque wrench, action wrench and barrel vise.

I think most prefits are going to either be in stock or like a month wait time depending on what you want.

I actually was reading that thread on barrel torque before posting this. I assumed I would just go with impact or barrel builders reccomendation.

just be warned barrels ordered from expertvoice can also take up to 6 months to be delivered. That’s not always the case but it happens.

You’ll be happy with either action. Both companies are great too. But the I would get the impact. More prefit availability, they work with Grayops mags, you can actually take the bolt apart.

One is made in house and one is farmed out.

One has plentiful prefits in stock at any given time the other doesn't.

One is a 90 two lug and the other a 60 degree 3 lug.

One uses trigger hanger to avoid trigger timing issues the other doesn't.

Owned both and the terminus felt like a bag of ass compared to running the impact.

They are both solid actions. I would personally lean towards Zeus. I really like the tool-less removal of the firing pin assembly and the threaded trigger pins. And for someone who chambers barrels I appreciate the flat breech instead of cutting the obsolete counter-bore; but that's just me.
I wouldn't kick either one out of bed for eating crackers; you will have an excellent experience with either.

Can you give your reasons for the preference? Not a snarky question just would love to know the benefits
Impact didn't suck his cock when he tried to contact them so he's been shit talking them for years despite them dominating the completion market for almost a decade. Terminus actions feel like a bag of crusty shit compared to a smooth 2 lug like the impact and lone peaks and even defiance. I had a kratos and sold it quickly.

I’d personally take the Zeus out of those two options. Feels great, nearly snaps itself shut. I’ve got a dozen different custom actions currently and it’s still a favorite of mine, and most people who come to play with them all.

I didn’t love the hitch in the Impact action that I had - but the Fuzion gives all the pros of the Impact without the hitch - so maybe give them a look?

End of the day though, they’re all high end actions, they’re all gonna be great.

I’ll echo this about the Lone Peak. Have an Impact and ran a buddy’s for a while, but just something about my Fuzion’s I like better.

My Zeus is pretty smooth, especially after running the bolt a bit. The more I used it the more I started grabbing for it. One of the reasons I’m more inclined to build on more Zeus actions in the future is the field strippable bolt when looking at doing hunting/NRL builds.

And it wasn't quite they didn't suck Mike's cock, they were just asshole business people and refused to extend some professional courtesy after he repeatedly called. I have stories from back in the day too that go the other way would you like to me air them ... I can climb way back into peoples asses if you want. I can spin all sorts of tales outta school about the bullshit underhanded shit done in this industry against other people... so why can't you stop crapping in these threads...

You'd think you'd learn, want to talk GAP vs Tac Ops and all the dirty shit they pulled ... ?

Those are for the Bear Pit to be honest, you want to fight online, go sling digital mud, keep in the Pit, I have repeatedly said, the Information sections should be for Information and not some petty bullshit cause you're an emotional infant.

What caliber? You are not shooting Prairie Poodles with a 308…

I absolutely can get prairie dogs with a Tac Ops 308, you must be new … 😝View attachment 8792009
No, I own one and it is a tac driver, I have another on order. It was no the rifle I am not sure I would want that many 308 rounds in a day. Could you do it, Sure, easy, any day, just to me it would not be first choice. Now a 6mm Creedmoor TacOps would clean a field🤣

I hope that stuff just stays down. Cost me what I thought were friends.
Mike R I have known for twenty plus years. Good honorable man
Deathbeforedismount I have never met you but enough is enough. Please learn to treat people on net like they were looking you eye to eye and I guarantee if Mike R, you and I were in same room with that attitude I would have to resort to my cop days and keep you safe from what you truly deserve

Mike just keep making the most accurate rifles with factory ammo I have ever used That’s the line that really said it all back in the day and now

There is no reason to wreck these threads over your lame understanding of a situation, it’s revisionist history being played out.

It was a chip on Impacts shoulder not Mike’s.

While the new bolts added a bit of life to the 90 degree actions, it’s still a 2 lug bolt, and a 2 lug 75 degree action in 2025 at a premium price is stupid.
