Then ensure the leaders elected will be good stewards of the community and the treasury. Failure to do so is not the rest of our problem in communities that did that.
My big issue is these cities want to block federal law enforcement for immigration, then they can handle all the rest of the law enforcement themselves as well. Their house, their rules, their problem, their solution. If they fail to solve it, thats on them, not us.

This is Seattle. I'm surprised the mayor isn't "showing solidarity" and kissing their feet. If this were Portland, they would be welcomed as liberators of the oppressed. Let's not forget, Portland mayor authorized 40 hours of bereavement leave for all city employees to grieve the "400 years of oppression"
What's really odd is that I have heard nothing (or maybe I missed it) from anyone inside the "Zone" that is complaining about it. Are they actually preventing people from coming or going, or interfering with businesses or government activites? From the very limited coverage I've seen, it looks closer to the latter. If that's true, then I wouldn't waste resources bringing attention to them, inviting lawsuits, and creating more social media videos that put law enforcement in an unfairly bad light. Let the hippies play cowboys and Indians (or whatever politically correct version of that they call it now) until they get tired and go home.
