    I am still hesitant to cut my barrel even though almost every gunsmith I've see say it's fine if done right. If I ever decide to get it threaded I'll probably go ahead and chop the barrel down.

    I shot some through a remington 700 with no problems. Every chamber is different so try it. The safety margin on a bolt action is pretty good.

    There were AR's that did which is why the industry basically eliminated the 223 Chambering Wylde was designed to shoot 5.56 so no surprise there.

    I would not with a 223. There have been multiple people with issues unless they have been resolved. The three lug bolt has problems with 223 out of AICS mags They make a AICS 223 American now?

    It's true I witnessed it firsthand. I don't know if they said what the specific problem was but guns were pulled and bolts were either fixed or replaced I am not sure which. On Arf one of the Sig employees said is was a small number of rifles but gave no actual numbers.

    There has always been talk that nutnfancy isn't exactly honest in all his reviews. Too bad. A high profile manufacturer has very few options on stuff like this even if it is totally fraudulent. They just have too much to lose.

    One thing you guys aren't comparing is the supersonic capability which should be a big step up from the 300 Blackout. If dedicated subs are all you are doing it might not be worth it. I am interested to see what kind of cool bullets we get out of it. The extra 35% bullet weight can't hurt...

    Gunsmithing SBR Bolt Action question regarding Barrel fitting

    It's only a SBR if it's a SBR. It's perfectly legal to put a long barrel on it. When it's assembled with the long barrel it no longer is a SBR nor subject to the NFA rules.

    Most all of them are blowback so stopping the bolt would be pretty tough.

    Think Short Action Customs used to do it as part of a upgrade package on a factory Remington heavy barrel gun. As mentioned unless you are doing it yourself it will usually cost a good chunk of what a new barrel would be.

    I would imagine any of them would do one for you. Don't think I've ever seen one as a stocked item. Years ago I had to order one from Pacnor for my savage.
