    I'm confused about your caliber question because it is a 22 cal barrel. The Origin is a great starting point but if you already have the gun and ordered the barrel might as well roll with it.     It can be done but it seems like there is no situation where it would be worth the trouble unless you are stuck with that gun only. Savage used to do it but they had mags properly set up and a bolt stop that limited travel to basically make it equal to a short action.

    His stuff was good no doubt and he made bottom metal for some oddball configurations but my opinion is that he was successful because he had customer service second to none and did installs for cheap/free. He just made it easy. I'm one of those guys that shouldn't mess around with tools too much...

    I didn't realize the factory setup was problematic it never gave me issues but I didn't shoot it much before sending it to CDI. The whole reason I did it was I wanted 10rd mags.

    I bought the Brownells pistol chassis for mine and eventually want to build it as a SBR. I wanted something really compact and didn't want to spend as much as the Elf Owl chassis so when the Brownells/MDT went on sale I grabbed it.

    Pick the rifle you want but I'd stick to 6.5 Creedmoor. Magnum class stuff isn't great to learn on. More cost more weight more recoil.

    I disagree because the more relevant and popular the guns are the more the aftermarket will support them. In reality it was a bunch of different things but if FN had put more effort into them they could have taken more of the market which would eventually lead to more aftermarket.

    FN was always behind the ball and probably still is. I think they prioritize their other markets over civilian which I understand. They've always struggled with certain lines and the SPR was definitely one of them. Everyone knew they were quality but countless people asked them for updated...

    Looks like a normal 1500 not the mini. It was a bad call for them to give the mini action the same model number. What's the bottom look like? All the mini actions I've seen have their proprietary bottom metal and magazines. If you can't figure it out call up Howa and they can tell you.

    Is it a short or long action? The old 110's were long actions. I always thought the Orxy Chassis is the best value but it doesn't have a folding option.
