Rifle Scopes best low light rifle scope--no budget

That is absolutely true Dave. But if the exit pupil is equal, as are the number of elements (with same coatings etc.) the light gathering of the larger primary will be apparent. And if it's a big problem, pick the day optic you like and get a used SIMRAD to slap in front of it at night.

Rifle Scopes best low light rifle scope--no budget

Larger primary gathers more light. Just like telescopes and camera lenses. Exit pupil may or may not be affected, and from the same brand at the same magnification, I would expect it to be the same.

    Rifle Scopes IOR Valdada?

For three grand I'd be looking at USO, S&B. Not much else. If you want to spend less, find those brands used. If you want to spend less, there have been some excellent suggestions. Tracking/repeatability (whichever term you like), durability and clarity (in that order) are for me. My...

    Gunsmithing Allen bits

Wiha is quality. No question there. They can be a bit over-hardened however, and can break. Particularly the torx bits. I have found the Snap-On (gold bits) to be the best. If torque is low, the Wiha stuff is excellent.

Rifle Scopes No love for US Optics?

Nothing to complain about I guess... "No news is good news." They just work.

    Gunsmithing Allen bits

For firearms I go with the Snap-O suggestion; but pony up the few extra bucks for the gold colored ones. They keep their edge/shape MUCH better than the lack bits. Just buy the sizes you need and it's not that bad. 1/4" drive fits your torque wrench too.

    Choosing My First Reloading Setup

I’ll throw in a cheap flash hole uniforming tool. Lapua brass probably won’t need it but it makes me feel good. Only needs to be done once per cartridge. I tumble in walnut shells and add a bit of “Nu-Finish” and they come out just fine with no seating or release issues. Either you dpend...

Used CLR to clean Barrel. Massive zero shift. Related?

I use it to clean cymbals. It’s a mild acid. I like it for cymbals because it takes the oxide off but doesn’t take the ink off. I even use the foamy spray spray stuff in the yellow bottle to clean the tub. Not the Tubb. I don’t have the latter. I use the quart bottle (gray one) for cymbals. I...

    Something of Interest

I find it most amusing that this was decided twenty-odd years ago, re-affirmed by bi-partisan majority and finally someone crushed the can rather than kicking it down the road another six months. Honestly, do you think we care we can’t be the leader of your peace talks? Obviously we are...

Gunsmithing PSA: clever shop/machine lighting at Costco

Home Depot carries led shop lights. You can link them end to end too- make a long run of them with one plug at the end. Very nice and great light output. They draw far less than fluorescent lights and they start in the cold.
