    Rifle Scopes Another Vortex down

I had a shift in my zero somewhere, yes. Did the rifle get dropped or tampered with or something else let loose - guard screw, rings, suppressor? I don't know. Did the TT turret on my scope fail? I highly doubt it. After discovering I was off (tall grass disguised the height of my misses), I...

Introducing the BASE CPS - Competition Primer Seater

Being one of the few people that has had the opportunity to seat a number of case with the BASE CPS, I can honestly say I've never had such a pleasant experience when seating primers. The amount of feel there while still having an abundance of power is incredible! I had never before been able to...

Thanks to all the guys at OBGC for putting on a very fun and challenging shoot. Also, thanks to the amazing crew of RO's that worked their butts off all day to keep the shoot moving smoothly. I definitely want my name on the list if there are plans for another shoot next year! Thanks again!

Gunsmithing Gunsmiths Who Have Worked On Tikka T3 Actions

1"-16 is what I've seen on them as well. They are a slick action to work with. Gotta get a hold of .693-.695 bushings to blueprint by dialing with PTG .500 rod though.

Gunsmithing Should I have a gunsmith install my bolt action stock???

There's a chance that it will drop in and run without issue. However, what I've seen in Bell & Carlson stocks isn't that. More often than not, they don't sit square in the stock and put undue stresses in the action when bolted down properly.

Gunsmithing atlas trg adapter into wooden sako stock??

Welcome to the hide. I'd go for it and have the rail installed in your quad stock. Why let an awesome bipod like that go to waste!

Gunsmithing Fluting Push Feed M70 Question.

When helical fluting a Model 70 push feed bolt is there any concern about steering clear of the 2 gas ports on the bottom side of the bolt, midway along the bolt? I would think it would take some serious tinkering with the program and set up to either split the two with a flute or centerpunch...

Gunsmithing CNC Barrel Channel Inletting Question

When inletting a barrel channel what do you guys prefer for an end mill size and configuration? I fear that the 3/4" 2fl ball mill I have is going to be hard on the top edges of the stock and chip out gelcoat. If I had the software, i'd think a 3/16 or 1/4 would be ideal where you could have it...

Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

Re: Idea! Official DTA SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread The new Kahles scope is looking awesome! The only things I would like see added would be milestone clicks at the full mil, tool-less zero stop, and another reticle option nearly identical to the AMR except with a fine little crosshair in...

Gunsmithing High Power Silhouette Hunter class bbl contour

Re: High Power Silhouette Hunter class bbl contour Dixon, do you think a #4 at 24" with flutes will make get me close. Reason for a #4 is that Lilja has 6.5 #4's in stock and ready to ship.

Gunsmithing High Power Silhouette Hunter class bbl contour

Im putting together a rifle for a young man to be used in the NRA high power silhouette hunter class which has a weight limit of 9lbs with scope. The question that I'm having a hard time finding an answer to is what the common barrel contour is for such a rifle. Right now the components they...

Gunsmithing cut VS. button rifled barrels..........the truth!

Re: cut VS. button rifled barrels..........the truth! This really couldn't have been said any better! That's exactly what I've been telling customers. I've been putting a lot of Lilja barrels on lately simply because the number required to get volume discount was low and they have been...

Gunsmithing CNC Inletting for DBM question.

Re: CNC Inletting for DBM question. Thanks for the extra information! Are you able to get the bottom metal on most dbm systems to flush up with the bottom of the stock? In doing so does the box (I don't know what else to call it) on the bottom metal that surrounds the magazine allow plenty...

Gunsmithing CNC Inletting for DBM question.

Re: CNC Inletting for DBM question. Wow Chad! I've read your post at least 10 times now trying to soak it all up. Now let me take a stab at relaying how I interpreted your instruction. What I gather is you have a fixture that you dial in on the mill bed then place the stock on. This fixture...

Gunsmithing CNC Inletting for DBM question.

I've done some searching looking for the answer to my rather specific question and have yet to find what I was looking for. I'm a young gunsmith and currently in machine tool school for cnc operations and programming so I have access to the vertical machining center every day. In the very near...
