    OAL question

Reloading .308's that will be shot one at a time in my gun. It looks like 2.880 will put me about .010 off of the rifling. Will this hurt anything? As in being too long? The gun is a 700 VLS and it is a Lapua case and a 168 Matchking. Thanks for helping, Scott.

I was looking at the Redding and the RCBS. What are your opinions or do you have another suggestion? Thanks for your help, Scott.

    Finally!

Re: Finally! Well, I thought I could put a pic in, but can't. If you want to see it, I can email them to ya. It's nothing special at all, but I'm pleased with it.

    Finally!

After saving my clams, I got all my stuff piled up and put together. Remington VLS in .308 and a Bushnell 4200 6-24. EGW 20 MOA base and Weaver 6 hole rings with a Harris bipod to prop it up. Now I have to save up more money for reloading components. Hopefully I'll be shooting about the time it...

    Rifle Scopes Scope base...

Re: Scope base... Look at the Weaver tactical rings also. I went with the 6 hole and the same base you speak of. All should be here tomorrow.

    Rifle Scopes Contacting EGW

Re: Contacting EGW My main question deals with the F-class base and the Dual extended base. How much is the dual extended past a normal base? I know that the F-class extends 3" to the front. The reason is, I have 8" on my scope tube for rings. I'd like to use as much of this as I can to get...

    .308 die question

Re: .308 die question So, are all of the dies I need in the collet set? And then get a FL die separately?

    Rifle Scopes Contacting EGW

Does anyone have info on contacting EGW? I've called and left a message (they said they'd call back) and I've sent an email. No response. I just have a couple of questions about a base and then I will GIVE them my money. If they would answer my questions. It can't be that hard can it? Thanks, Scott.

    .308 die question

I am gonna reload .308 for my bolt gun, starting with new Lapua brass. I was looking at the Lee collet dies but I'm not sure. I'll only size the necks. Are all the dies I need in this set? Looking at the Lee website, it's confusing. Or, do I need different dies all together? Thanks, Scott.

Gunsmithing Broke my first Remington bolt

Re: Broke my first Remington bolt That almost looks like it was spotted with a MIG. Instead of doing a complete weld, you spot, spot, spot.... In fact, I'd bet that's what was done. I can't make a TIG look like that but I can make a MIG look exactly like that. I'd find a new welder if I was you.

    Gunsmithing Barrel Coatings

Re: Barrel Coatings Does this idea suck or am I the only one that has thought of it? I'd tend to think the lubricity provided by the coating would do several things. Less fouling and higher velocities/less pressure from same load. It would also keep the throat from eroding as fast. I can only...

    Gunsmithing Barrel Coatings

Has anyone tried barrel coatings such as TiN or any of the other vapor depositions? It seems this could be a huge advantage by offering less friction and a tougher surface. There would be other advantages as well depending on the coating used. Whatcha think???

Gunsmithing Gunsmith question: Lee Thomas, Hernando Ms

Re: Gunsmith etiquette question If he takes credit cards, pay with it, get your gun and then dispute with credit card. Screwing goes both ways. I work too hard for my money just to sling it out the window. My parents taught me (and I learned) to be fair and honest, but like Sonny Barger...
