    Building a long range LR308 - choosing a barrel

    I can't comment on the LW, but I would recommend taking a look at Lilja. I was able to get a 24" 1:10 stainless and threaded within a week. This was less than a month ago. It shoots exceptionally well as done a .260 barrel I have from Lilja.

    I actually do that myself. I've done it on a couple rifles and it turns out pretty good using grey marine tex. If you're interested I can PM you some more details on it.

    Mine is also with 300SMKs but if its any use I use: Lapua brass 89 g RL-25 Fed 215M I get a velocity of 2825 with single digit SD

    WMD bolt carriers

    I agree with the above posts, I got quite a few of them a while back along with the NiB coated uppers and they have run flawlessly and are very smooth. I have no complaints at all with them.

    Something different: my dad, brother, and I all use NXS 5.5-22. However, we hunt in western KS where everything is pretty open and shots are usually taken at decent distance. I think it largely depends on what type of area you hunt, the distances, and what kind of weight you don't mind packing...

    Re: Pelican case foam cutting advice/techniques Something different...I couldn't seem to get precise cuts with the electric knife and used a fine hacksaw blade and just cut by hand. Took longer but seemed to work better for me.
