Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

Magazines, as in DBM, or as in anything besides single feed in a non-repeating action? I'm not worried about this one being "tactical" with a DBM, but I would like it to BR a repeater...

Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

6mmbr is where I'm leaning, or 6xc or something. Hard to beat a 6 for sheer accuracy, and if I wanted to stretch it out later it would be easy to do!

That's a winner, dude! It would be awesome with FDE metal

Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

That's how I feel about my Creedmoor too. I guess I've just got the itch for something new

Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

Really, just because it doesn't do anything my 6.5 and WSM don't do already. I'm sort if hankering for a pure accuracy rig, with bonus points for long barrel and case life, and extra bonus points for low recoil That said, anything can shoot well

Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

That's the thing, I can already get .5s, even .3 and .4 on a good day with my Creedmoor. I don't know if I know what i want! I'm not an aspiring bench rest guy, just hoping for something easier to shoot than my 6.5CM (if that's even possible!) that has good barrel life and consistent top...

Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

I don't think 223 is going to do it for me, although I'm sure they can be made to drive tacks. If only FN made their .223 bolt guns with a 1/7 twist instead of a 1/9!

Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

So my range goes out to 800 and I'm happy with my 6.5CM and 300 WSM there. I'm starting to think I would enjoy focusing with a new gun on tiny tiny groups, not so much for competition, but just on my own. Sort of a way to really focus on case prep, etc, and really make done big holes. I had...

Replacement for AICS Magazines - Accurate vs Alpha

I have found Accurate to be superior to my Alpha mags, but not by much. You can get the Alpha with the front plate already removed.

That sounds like an awesome gun- what's the damage on something like that?

How to identify a smear stock?

Thanks, this place is a wealth of info. So are they a rare mistake or something , like an upside down airplane stamp or something? Or is it a military thing?

Need opinions on McMillan Camo Choice

Thanks, I'm just dying to build off of one! I'm not a fan of the marble McMillan finishes, don't know why. The larger areas and defined lines of their original camo patterns just suit my eye better.

Need opinions on McMillan Camo Choice

Sorry to hijack, but I don't ever see G30 users and is love to know how you like the action? Do you have any other CRF guns to compare it with? Re: your stock choice, for me it's hard to beat the GAP camo. Don't they have a desert GAP?

Forgive me, I'm not familiar with that term- what's a "smear" stock?

    Varget Powder

This, but with FGGM instead of the BR2, was a laser in my 700 AAC-SD before I traded that gun away.

CDI bottom metal on FN PBR problem

The only bottom metal that will work with the FN is their TBM with their proprietary mags. AI mags require some very minor customization of the action. Not sure if the new PTG DBM for FN has some kind of work around, but if it uses AI mags I doubt it. CDI can do the milling, it's a very tiny...

Midway has 6.5 creedmor for 25$ on clearance

That's a good deal on Creedmoor brass, Hornady has been great for me. I wanted to pull the trigger on the Scenars as well, but I just don't gave time to do load development right now
