    Berger bullets.. So confused!

I must be missing something.........the 300gr Accubond is pretty similar to the SMK or Scenar in the ballistic department; what the bullet does after impact is a totally different story. Inside 1000 yds there won't be much difference in POI.

    universal decap .338?

Sinclair has a universal one which works great with 338lm brass.

Do you love your annealing machine? Why or why not.

Went with Giraud because a good chunk of my other tools come from him. Went to work on a pile of 338lm brass about 45 minutes after it was delivered. He isn't super fast (6 week wait, believe he is a one man shop); products are the best I've used. Ended up buying all the tooling so it does...

    question about the 22-250.

Very interesting. How fast can you sling an 80gr bullet out of a 22-250 with a 24" bbl? As far as hunting with one, there are some pretty impressive 22 cal bullets made to penetrate after expanding. Concerning down range energy; it has a bunch more than the 32 Win SL (looks like a 327 federal...

SAKO TRG - Trigger Group Removal Question

Get some of those "round-headed" allen wrenches.......the ones with the little o-ring in the tip; they allow you to come in at an angle with out buggering up the screw head. Also, I was under the impression the bolt had to be removed when doing anything with the trigger

    50 BMG Breakdown

We (community property state) have a McMillian Tac-50 which is in a league by itself; also, a Barrett M-82 witch fills it's nitch (low recoil so she likes shooting it with double ear protection). The 82 is a 2.0MOA gun with very quick follow up shots, while the T50 is sub-1/2" moa. You really...

    Barrel contour for 338 Lapua

That is some kick-ass shooting...........nice job! How does it do with the 300gr Bergers?

    Powder lot numbers

The local Cabelas just got a train load of powder in; only letting each person pick up 2#/day though. Is the current production of powder consistent? Can remember a few decades ago; one had to work up their loads when changing powder lots. I'm using Retumbo in a 338lm......91.5gr behind 300gr...

    Denting cases after FL resizing...

Get on Sinclairs website..........they demo "spraying" the cases with lube. It is pretty sparse; but it works and I learned a bunch from them. Give the spray lubes a try and clean your sizer die with some brake cleaner......squeaky clean. You have produced some of the best lube dents ever seen ;)

    TRG magazines

Thanks for the great info. Just noticed the label on the box; ordered a black gun, received a black gun, label on the box says green but the serial numbers match what's stamped on the gun. Maybe a stock swap leaving the above mentioned adjustment block a little out of whack. I really like the...

    TRG magazines

Mine sucks...........it's loose and doesn't feed very well. Unless, the front part of the mag is held up tight. Still can't believe they get $175 for these stamped out accoutrements. The gun does shoot very well though ;)

FL vs Neck Sizing...Truth or Myths?

The comp shell holders still bottom out on the die but they have a little extra material above the extraction rim of the case so slightly less of the case goes into the die. They come as a set of 5, all of which have different amounts of adjustment.

    Sorting primers

Been shooting 215M primers in the 338lm. Noticed some have just a little purple paint on their firing side while others have blobs of the purple stuff. What is this paint like stuff and what does it do to the ignition sequence when it's varied from primer to primer. Just curious.......trying...

FL vs Neck Sizing...Truth or Myths?

I've had problems at both ends of the spectrum; now using the Redding competition shell holders which do a 0.010" or less bump with a bushing for the neck. If neck sizing for every shot you will eventually end up with a round which doesn't fit anymore..........that's why they sell body sizing...

    300wm........338lm

The football comment is some funny stuff. It was a good load back in the day; I need to get with the times. My 300wm is old with a 1:12 twist but it still shoots varmints out to 1k with ease. I've tried bigger bullets and might as well be throwing rocks, plus it has a can on the end and a...

230 grn hybrids for 300 win

That load/performance is actually a little better than the 338LM; at least the one I'm shooting. I just finished Litzs' new book and starting to think a new bbl on the 300wm would have been a better option than adding the 338 and all it's life support equipment.

    Sticky Cases

Polish the expander ball..............or get a carbide expander button. Looks like you're using Redding dies, they make the carbide button you may need. JMO

    T.I.R. 338lm

Been painstakingly reloading the 338lm to get the TIR below .002" Using Redding dies and competition shell holder (0.010 reduced bump), carbide expander ball, o-ring under the die lock ring/shell holder, size it, drop it down a bit (not touching the expander ball) then rotate 180 and size it...

    Need annealing help

I use the Giraud annealer which seams to be doing a great job.........the 338lm brass looks like it did out of the blue box; 8 seconds with the flame point at the base of the neck. Been getting 10+ reloads before the primer pockets start getting loose.......then use them for subsonic loads ;)
