    Finally used a chrono today. I don't remember the actual numbers, but 43.0 of 4064 with 175 SMK's out of my 1:10 20 incher was averaging 2580 fps. Hell of a lot more than I thought it was!

    The last two scopes in my decision for this current rifle came down to what's on there now, and a SS. I had a cheaper SS fixed 10x back in the day, and it was a great cheap scope. I'm sure I would have been happy with th SS though.

    Never had the pleasure of using a HDMR, but it is one of those scopes on my long list. The only Bushnell I have used is my Elite Tactical Fixed 10x. Perfect scope for my .22 Savage MkII TR. After seeing the quality of Bushnells $200.00 scope, I can imagine what their $2100.00 optic is like.

    Just to put it out there I am not saying in anyway that the Vortex that's on there now is unpleasing. I am definitely happy with it. For a $900.00 scope it does great and then some. But after using some NF's and such you can tell the difference

    When do you clean your rifle barrel.

    I use the same stuff and it does work great. If I have to ill use other products along with a nylon brush, and a coated rod so I'm not putting anything into my bore that can harm it. I usually end up cleaning at 400+ rounds on my factory remington .308 barrels when they are new

    Exactly this. My thumb wheel screws come loose every time no matter what after three shots. I started a thread about it recently in the gunsmith section, and there is some really good advice for modifying it to not come loose.     I have owned Remingtons and I have owned Savages, both in .308 winchester. To make a long story short, I now only own Remingtons with the exception of my mark II TR .22.
