    It's a great tripod but the leveling base that comes with it is pretty bad. It would be usable in a pinch I guess but I would look for a good ball head mount.

    True about the barrels but bighorn's website asks for what action the bolt heads are for so I assume there must be a difference. I've never owned, only handled a tl3, but so far my origin has been great.

    Not sure what your limit is for short scopes, but the Bushnell HDMR 2 and the whole tactical line are fairly short and built solid. I've had mine for almost 2 years now with lots of rounds down range on multiple rifles and it has been great, especially for the price range it is in.
