Kestrel Elite - manually entering wind direction for target card

Apologies if this is dumb - I'm not finding how to do exactly what I think I want to do (or find the shortest possible way there). I'm hoping maybe I'm dumb or I've just missed it. I've had issues getting the Kestrel's compass to work consistently (even after countless calibrations, practice...

    Not Bartlein Barrels

@Frank Green mentioned asking for the serial number - another option is to just ask the gunsmith to part off the serial number info and send it to you with the barrel/gun. Trivial to do on a lathe before they start to cut the tenon, etc. Then you get a 1.25" "coin" with the barrel info on it...

    6gt

You're just wanting to know which mandrel? I'm just getting started on 6GT, so I haven't resized any brass, yet. But, based on experience with 25CM and 6.5CM, if you're annealing each time, a .240 mandrel should put you at .0030 or .0035 neck tension, depending on your bushing. Go up in mandrel...

    Kestrel Meters Ballistics Official Thread

I'm sure this is my poor search-fu or something, but can't seem to find the answer? Apologies for being dumb... Does the KestrelLiNK Ballistics app back up things like DSF, bullet length (if input via Kestrel), etc? (ie, all of the stuff you can edit in the gun profile on the Kestrel itself...

    Sierra problems

Read the 4th paragraph here, regarding BlackJack Bullets demise and Sierra's involvement... - that was April 4th, 2022. As a small business, it's kinda hard to keep rolling when you can't deliver any product. Now... Sierra is only part of the problem (a big part, but not the whole story) in...

    New Hornady 134 .257

Sierra was making them for Blackjack under contract - not clear to me who owns the design, actually, so I don't know if Sierra could sell them directly (though they could easily generate their own high BC .257 design). But, Sierra's apparently focused on "more important things" like large...

    New Hornady 134 .257

The ACE is done done. Even if Sierra made more, the money to pay for them doesn't exist anymore, and you're not gonna see it come back to you. (I'm in that boat with you, unfortunately). Another option that doesn't seem to get discussed much is the Berger 133 Elite Hunter - it's not available...

Ah, gotcha, thank you. I thought date was encoding in the number somehow, but it's not... at all... LOL... I'll drop you my control number in a DM...

Just curious what the encoding is, or how you know that number indicates March 30/31? I only ask cause I certified on on July 7th, 2022, but my control number doesn't seem to make it obvious it was in July?

    The new SAC sizing die

I have two new mandrels from them - .2540, and .2545 (yes! .25 cal is now a first class citizen!) Both measure dead nuts with a mitu mic.

    The new SAC sizing die

Are you shimming the bushing, too? If not, you can likely do a bit less camover, and add appropriate bushings to get your bump.
