Last thing first: What issue(s) are you having? The 15-round mags amplify "sensitivities" found in the 10-rounders: The magazine MUST!! be held at the correct height in your chassis or stock. My 2019-vintage rifle is in an MPA BA Comp chassis. When it first came from Vudoo, the non-adjustable...

    Question on bullet seating.

^^^ I agree with this. Over hundreds - thousands - of rounds of 6.5CM, 6BR, and .223 loaded over the last several years in Starline, Peterson, and Alpha brass with top-shelf bullets and powders, I've come to expect my .223 SDs to be over double that of the larger calibers. One of my more...

Pfft. Got you beat. I have two of the discontinued 15-round aluminum mags. Truly collector's items, and they run perfectly in my rifle. And the follower button lets me easily load 15 rounds of Lapua ammo in August. If you know, you know. Priceless...

Do I need match ammo at 100 yards? Or is it a waste of money?

Here's an illustration from thisd afternoon's range trip. Point is, 69 SMK is far more accurate than 55 FMJBT. This carries across different powders/primers/brass. Distance: 100 yards Rifle: Barnes Precision, 18" 1:8 stainless barrel, Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44 @18x, suppressed Brass: LC...

Do I need match ammo at 100 yards? Or is it a waste of money?

Bulk 55/62gr ammo is in no way "precision." You can develop precision technique about as well by dry firing as shooting 193/262 rounds. In my 16" Barnes Precision AR, 69 grain SMKs loaded to ~2650fps group to about an inch at 100 while 55gr FMJBT - factory and handload - do well to stay within...

And many of them end up like Dr. Elion: sitting alone in back of the room while unintelligent, dishonest takers with a propensity for social manipulation profit from her work and throw her colleagues out the door while proclaiming how they're making everything wonderful.

    Looking for PRS Beginner Tips

There are quite a few worthwhile posts for beginners in this thread. Here are a couple of mine... Hints Things newbies do ^^^ This. Nobody will remember your score, but if you fuss and act like a dick... yeah, I can tell stories from 30+ years ago about pissy whiny complainers. Good luck.

This sounds like... gasp... science. The pursuit of which oftentimes collides with... Greed. Ignorance. The latter all too often makes life easy for the former. Another of the inevitable stories from the old guy, where pursuit of $$$$$ almost certainly hurt humankind. ---- My best working years...

    Scope ring height

I recently went through this quandary myself. I ended up with 1.5" rings (actually, Vortex 1.46" rings), mainly due to (a) hunting for sale price and (b) my normal preference for having the flexibility of separate rings. A few thoughts: As it turns out, the only advantage of rings (for me) on...

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

I would surely hope so. The email reply was only three sentences and didn't state for sure, but $2100 for a barrel is way too far over the top for any provider, let alone a well-respected outfit like SPR.

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

I asked SPR (Southern Precision Rifles, bugholes.com) two months ago about a MW prefit. Here's the meat of the reply: "We're not fans of rimfire prefits - while prefits CAN work that's not a success ratio we're interested in. We have been very successful installing the barrel to the Rimx...

Thanks for this story. It takes me back nearly 50 years to my brief time working in the industry in CT, in a role that introduced me - a 25-year-old kid - to some of the legends. Winchester was in New Haven, Bill Ruger was running things in Southport, Remington was in Ilion, Browning in Morgan...

    Vudoo closed the doors…

Fwiw, I have #20xx, ordered/received early 2019... definitely 1st-gen, or at least the bolt has the big cocking button that got tiny with gen-2 (and maybe 1.1 but that's fuzzy). With what serial did the production run start? 1001? Back in my skeet days, we "early adopter" Kolar owners would...

@RAVAGE88 Mike, a question: are Vudoo service parts - extractor kits, springs, etc. - patented, such that other machine shops are blocked from making them commercially? I'm into my 70s now and slowing down some... I expect my 2019-vintage gen-1 V22 to outlast me without needing parts, but...

Pistol Reloading Issue I cant figure out

New carry gun? Is its feed ramp steeper than other 9mm pistols you have? See below - I never had any trouble with uncrimped .223 bulk reloads in ARs until my son bought his infernal Tavor. Now I have to crimp anything that may find its way into that one rifle - process described below. -------...

    Need UPS for FX120i

Putting a 100-gram weight on the scale and seeing "100" is not calibrating it. See pages 30-31 of the manual for the external-weight calibration procedure. I'm not saying calibration should/would have any effect on drifting - it probably shouldn't - but to me it's a reasonable step to take.

    Need UPS for FX120i

How about moving the scale to another breaker circuit, or even move it to a friend's house, to see if plugging it into a different outlet makes any difference? Also, have you tried recalibrating it with a known check weight? Someone mentioned the bubble level. I have to level my scale every...

    Barrel selection specifications

A finished 28" straight-contour barrel will weigh right at 9 pounds (table below). If you're young and strong, that well may be fine for you, and fluting would lighten it some. I have a couple of Heavy Varmint contour barrels (~7.5 lb); I'm old & relatively feeble so incoming new barrels are...

    .223 Rifle Build

A few thoughts. My background on the subject: Past owner of a .223 Tikka T3x Varmint upgraded with MDT 20MOA rail, LSS-XL chassis, ARCA rail, Anarchy Outfdoors bolt handle. Currently VERY pleased with Terminus Apollo-based custom .223 with Bartlein 1:7 barrel and TriggerTech Diamond in MDT ACC...
