    Gunsmithing Jewel trigger issue

I just removed a Jewel HVR from my Remington and put it in a Templar action. I had to remove the bolt release on the trigger, which didn't seem to be a big deal. I installed the trigger in the Templar action, safety checked it, everything seemed great. Went to the bench, fired 3 rounds and...

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

And here I was going to be a nice guy and share some of that H1000 I scored today with you! Unless Noah has the ark docked in my yard in the morning there will be some paper and steel getting killed tomorrow.

    Which group would you take?

I would play around with the load on the left, slightly better velocity and SD. Play around with seating depth, possibly neck tension. But it looks to me like you are in the ball park of hitting your rifles sweet spot.

Binos: leica vs zeiss ballistics program

Don't know about the HD-B. All I can tell you for sure is the HD's that I had sucked and their customer service is horrible.

Binos: leica vs zeiss ballistics program

I have had both, the Zeiss are by far better. They range farther, faster, and more accurately. With the Zeiss you can also scan and switch from meters to yards. I had the Leica HD's for 3 months before they quit ranging. It only took a year and one wrong pair of binos shipped to me to get my...

    whidden bullet pointing kit

Mine arrived Friday, as I also am waiting for a 6.5 SAUM. The claim has been made by more than one person running it that the 130 VLD will have a .600 b.c. when pointed. My question is why wouldn't you point the bullet? If that's all it takes to get that much gain the it's worth the effort...

Hunting & Fishing Why Guns and Ammo HATES the .308

I'm not trying to start a pissing match on anyones hunting rifles choices. Plan and simple I have shot a 300 WM more than I ever cared to. A good friend of mine had one in an A-bolt. The recoil on that thing was so brutal that it broke 3 scopes in one day at the range, 2 Burris and one...

Barrel Contour ?s - for owners of #4, Light Palma and Varmint/Sendero tapers

I have a light Palma Bartlein on my .308, mine is finished to 26, at 20 inches it is approx. .870 in diameter. As far as fluting to reduce weight goes it depends on how deep you cut them, and the number get. A light Palma should fit with ease in the stock that you are referring to.

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

Pat stopped by with his pickup loaded with toys, lets just say we wore some paint out on wolfie. I have been following this thread since the beginning, and talking with Pat while this rifle has been developed. First off I can say without any reservation that there isn't anything that I would...

    6.5 creedmoor vs .308

There is a wealth of great information on this site alone, and a wealth of great shooters to ask advice. When I was your age. I shot at least 1000 rounds of .22 ammo a month, probably more like 2k. You need a trainer rifle, learn the fundamentals, trigger control, shooting positions, etc. A...

    Gunsmithing Stock painting question

My problem is when I get my hands on the rifle, I'm like screw the paint, lets shoot this thing. However I think that the stock is going to be in my hands before the rifle is ready this time.

    Gunsmithing Stock painting question

That is a pretty sweet paint job! I am kind of leaning towards cerakote because I'm tooled up for it, not sure that I'm this handy!
