    I am not sure where you have got a commercial recipe involving copper oxide, Cu2o is not an explosive oxidizer. It is used in thermite but that is far away from mili-second decomposition. You are quite right it would give you a Raufoss like burn

    Ok Potassium Chlorate and or Perchlorate and alumnium dust make "flash powder" which can be incredibly dangerous. They must be mixed by "diapering" do a search on mixing flash powder. Potassium Chlorate is especially energetic. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH FLASH POWDER IS NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH...

    Whatever you do be extremely careful doing anything with sulphur. It has the potential to make any oxidizer extremely unstable.

    if you wipe the coated rod after each pass then no debris will embed in it. Also any "debris" will surely be softer than the metal in the barrel kinda like trying to cut a diamond with your fingernail. now if you are using lapping compound or other such abrasive then maybe so.

    I always wondered about that if you are say, target shooting on your own property, and an officer came onto your property drew down on you for no "immediate apparent reason". Could you defend yourself?? I am sure at that point it would be you or him..??
