    Gem Pro readout changing..

Glad i could help. A warm up you should always do with digital balances, especially if there is a temperature difference if fx moving it to your bench from another room. The fluorescent lights is best to avoid close to digital scales but the cold white 'bulbs' in them are perfect for tasks as...

    7mm rem mag load data?

Yes H4831 SC is a very consistent powder in my experience, I've only used it in the 284 win with 180's though. It works fine in the 7 RM but you will again not get top velocity with it, as your velocity clearly shows, as i assume you have a barrel at least 24' or so. My 284 drives the 180's...

    Gem Pro readout changing..

You must excuse my lousy technical English, calling it a Ferrule is not correct at all. It's a Ferrite, a magnetic clamp on line noise filter, i should have explained myself better at first. Radioshack or most other electronic store should sell these for a few dollars. They can help eliminating...

    Reducing Bullet Runout

If your rifle is performing as good as you can shoot, obsessing about runout might not be very beneficial. Shooting at longer ranges small variances shows much easier downrange. One thing you absolutely should try if you have a press with standard threaded die holder, is getting a appropriate...

    Reducing Bullet Runout

You do not give up much information about your current setup, reloading process or dies witch could be helpful. And that's two very different dies you mention. Neither do you mention much about the use of your ammunition. Also as mijp5 states 002 runout is not bad, and it will cost you a lot...

    Newbie reloading questions about brass.

918v is right. Lapua brass is produced by better machinery, and is generally more uniform. It's also annealed, and the flash holes are very consistent as they are drilled and not punched as american brass is. The cases also seems to last longer and stand up to high pressure better then most...

    7mm rem mag load data?

I only use Norma brass for my 7 RM, superior to the other offerings except for RWS witch is harder to get. As for brass life, if your reloading a Belted magnum you will benefit from getting a Belted Magum Collet Resizing Die from Innovatie Technologies ( Larrywillis.com), will save you money in...

    Gem Pro readout changing..

Anti static spray or cloth can help, but be very careful with the spray on the balance, unless the load cells are totally enclosed. Anti static cloth with a bit of spray on is far safer if applied to electronics. Applying to work area and self can help, although it's very simple getting a...

    Gem Pro readout changing..

Fluorescent lights, or a ' dirty power supply can cause it. I'd try a Ferrite (clamp on Magnetic Line Noise Filter) on the power cord. And there are some duds arond. Being a standard scale, at a low cost the 0.02 grain accuracy is questionable, especially when trickling as it's not a magnetic...

New guy looking for Sling input....

Would look at TIS Quick Cuff, and the new Slip Cuff QR. Triad tactical vendors them, or you can buy directly from Mike. My favorite slings by far. Other good ones are TAB gear, RAS and Elite sling. And the HTI looks interesting.

    21st century neck turning lathe

Have a couple of these units, and it's brilliant imo, prefer it to the K&M system. Use one of these for over a year now so i have turned a few thousand cases, the second one i got a few months back. Most other offerings is a pain to use if your gonna hand hold them, a vise takes that out of the...

.308 lake city lr match brass vrs. lake city crimped primer pocket brass

Best brass from my experience, not including LC as they are not available here. Lapua. Ruag Match RWS Norma Have tried other american made brass, Win,Rem,Hornady and Federal. And none of these comes close in weight consistency, compared to any mentioned above. The primer pockets and flash...

TIS slip cuff quick release vs TIS quick cuff

Used the Quick cuff for 10 years, have a few others AI,TAB and a 1903 type. Still the quick cuff is my favorite by far, wear the cuff secured to my jacket arm and for quick shots while hunting, it's just to snap in and can not imagine how any other sling can be as fast and easy to get into...

    8208 XBR, and carbon ring...

The carbon ring will appear more easily if your neck is trimmed short in relation to your chamber, what you first want to do is to get a chamber gauge and measure the actual max chamber length, and trim to max 0.10 or less below chamber max length. To allow for some brass growth, needless to...

    Digital scale info

The beam balances are surely accurate and long lasting, worth having on your bench for reference, or the day your digital dies, witch is usually when you need it. If you want a quality balance that Reliably reads at least 0.02 grains, witch is about the weight of a single kernel from a normal...

Sinclair's Digital Case Neck Micrometer, anyone familiar with it?

For measuring runout in the neck the redding case neck gage is excellent, so is the Sinclair. But for measuring case wall thickness you want a good micrometer. If you have the funds to swing it a Mitutoyo 395-363 is as good as it gets. Send it to K&M shooting for they're 60 degree mod to the...

    Best Fl bushing sizer

It seems the op found what he needed. But since you asked for the best bushing dies available, I would not look to Redding, although they generally make good dies.. Warner tool company and Neil jones would be the producers to look up from my experience. Whidden dies i have no experience with...

    Primer pocket sizes

The best one I've tried although rather expensive is the tool from 21st century shooting. Stainless steel with a really sharp carbide cutter, uniforms both small and Large flash holes, and is depth adjustable. Works great, have one setup for the 284, one for the 308 and one i use for the rest...

Rifle Scopes Looking for 3-15 illuminated...

There is a few options available with your requirements .If a 3-12 would do the Kahles K312I, mil/mil, 1 fp, illum goes for your upper price limit, a tad more with a msr reticle. And certainly is the best scope you currently can get for that price. Another good option that's been mentioned is...

Length of Pull How important is it. Mine is 15 7/8" and I cannot find a stock

OP, you measure your length of pull the same as you would with a shotgun, it might not be 100% accurate though. Your ideal LOP with a rifle might end up a bit shorter then for a shotgun, and 15.7/8 LOP would be difficult. 13.5-14.5 i bet would suit you well. CoryT really got it summed up rather...
