    Omega 300 on ar15

Ah. I'm not sure why it isn't better, but the raptor didn't cut a lot of gas away. I'd recommend the RTV silicone trick on the charging handle. Cuts back a lot of that gas to the face.

    Omega 300 on ar15

You might want to provide context to other things you find unpleasant, because 10 rnds of suppressed 11" 5.56 indoors with earpro isn't bad at all.

    Omega 300 on ar15

Using one with the ASR mount on everything from 26" 6.5 Creedmoor to 16" 308 to 11.5" 5.56 to a 5.5" Rattler. Silly quiet can and lightweight. The mount is fine. 20k+ rounds at this point. And to the Surefire folks, the RC2 is far louder than the Omega and has A LOT of back pressure in...

    Winchester 5.56 NATO brass WCC

Most of my experiences with 223 brass is that the barrel quality and bullet choice matter far before the brass. I've never seen an issue with winchester brass in 223. But I also anneal mine and use relatively moderate loads.

Hunting & Fishing 300 Blackout Opinions

Frankly I don't have issue killing hogs with 5.56, so i don't think finding something else to shove into the same magwell is necessary.

Rifle Scopes Thumbs up for Burris Optics

I've had similar experiences, but after my second P4Xi broke I decided that warranties are sometimes a solution to problems I don't want to have in the first place.

Rifle Scopes MK 12 Build Scope Options?

If you don't want it to be correct then you're not making a Mk12 Mod 1. If you want correct Mod 1 the scopes are pretty limited to the TS-30A2 and the NF 2.5-10X24. IMO after having both they're pretty meh at best. Hot shit 15 years ago, just not anymore. There's some fringe options like a...

Rifle Scopes Thoughts on poss. selling Vortex Gen 2 4.5-27 for Cronus BTR 4.5-29 & XLR Element chassis

Congrats, Detective. Really great work there. Most people including myself actually learn and develop themselves in ten years. May want to consider that. And I never bought an IOR after doing research into them. Right now I actually own a Gen II Razor 4.5-27, and yes, I've used Athlons flagship...

Rifle Scopes Thoughts on poss. selling Vortex Gen 2 4.5-27 for Cronus BTR 4.5-29 & XLR Element chassis

Don't bother with Athlon. It's the Avon Cosmetics of scopes right now.

    Rifle Scopes MK12/SPR Optic

Oh yeah, for an "SPR". But for clones it's all or none.

    Rifle Scopes MK12/SPR Optic

Avoid the Mark 6 like the plague; they are extremely prone to failure. Seen several fail myself, and heard of many more. Scope pricing is unfortunately a poor indicator of quality. For the money you'd be better off with a classic Nightforce 2.5-10.

    Once fired vs new

The gases upon firing are not only used for propelling your projectile into and out of the barrel, but they are also used to expand the brass to the chamber. That's where your seal comes from, and why we use a brass alloy tuned to a plasticity which is malleable during firing and keeps gas from...

Scales scales scales... tell me about your scale!

Been using a Chargemaster for several years and the only change I've done to mine is adding a plastic straw to the auger. I know a lot of people obsess over that extra resolution a higher-end scale can provide, and I know very well from using them in laboratories for many years, but the...

147 ELDM in 260 OCW results: Opinion needed

I'd get a MagnetoSpeed or LabRadar and take the human error out of it. Sorting by group size isn't going to tell you which load has an ES of 40 or an ES of 11. The load you're testing now may be good, but it might not be the best. Having velocity data for that entire string would be very...

    M193 marked cases

Re: M193 marked cases Those are from an overrun from "Centurion" loaded between 2007 and 2008 iirc. Used to come bulk packaged in a plastic bag. They had a silverish commercial primer, were not sealed, and had a 55 gr M193 clone projectile on top of a ball powder. I've been reloading the...
