    Camo Zombie Slayer (with pics)

I dunno about that. Id just strip it and start over. The beauty of krylon camo is that when it wears thru, just spray it again.

What do you do for work?

Industrial Electrical work. It pays the bills.

    Camo Zombie Slayer (with pics)

Hows it shoot? Tasco scope? Looks like the scope is mounted a little high for good cheek weld. Dont know if I like the clear coat, but the camo job looks good.

    First time shooting for groupings

Forgot all about your stocks. Its something to look at. How is the fit between the stock and the barrel? Is the stock flexing upwards and touching the barrel when youve got it on a rest? Myself, I think its a issue with your interaction with the rifle, and possibly some parallax troubles...

    First time shooting for groupings

On the adjustable objective, simply look at the target thru the scope, and turn the objective until the target is in focus. Theyre usually marked for yardage, but I dont know how precise they are. It helps to minimize the effects of parallax, but having a proper, solid cheekweld and consistant...

    First time shooting for groupings

Does your rifle have the accutrigger? How high above the receiver is the scope? Are you getting a good cheekweld? Are you shooting from front and rear bags, a pack, a rolled up towel under the forend? What position? Prone, seated? Its all about consistancy when youre shooting for groups...

    Father's Day 513T....

Same here. The size of the 513 action is one of the things I like most about it. Almost like a 700 without the 40x pricetag.

    Rimfire-specific log books........

Yeah, Ive got just a single dot in mine.

    Rimfire-specific log books........

DFOOS, killer idea on that card. I take it you zero it using the intersection of the crosshairs, then turn in 5 mils of elevation to use the dots? My boy shoots with me, and has a Simmons 6.5-20x AO with mil dots on his MK II GL. He loves this kind of shit, we'll have to whip something like that...

    Rimfire-specific log books........

Ive got range sketches in mine, as well as angular formulas and data, but havent messed with them much. A lot of the shooting around here is in abandoned quarries and on pipelines, so itd come in handy.I'll have to check out that book.

    Rimfire-specific log books........

Is anyone else keeping a log book for their rimfire rifle? I have been, though Ive only been logging my round count and general notes about the range session. What are some differences between your CF and RF logbooks, if youre keeping both?

    Father's Day 513T....

Ive not measured the pull on either, but I donr find the trigger on this one or mine bad at all.

    Father's Day 513T....

The scope base bolts? Theyre millets, theyve got the windage-adjustable clamp setup to mount to the bases. I hear you on the 540XR and 541T.theyre on my want list too. What Id really like to find is two more shooter 513Ts. One to refinish for my boy, and another for myself for in a spare...

    Father's Day 513T....

Yeah, those are the ones. Hook on one side, two screws on the other. Problem I always have with them is the scope always wants to turn on me as Im tightening the screws. Both this one and the later-production rifle I did up a couple years ago are commercial rifles.

    Father's Day 513T....

Thanks guys, like I said, Im pleased with the results. DFOOS, the bases I put on it are Weaver 44s. Are you using the old "snap over" Weaver rings?

Thanks, I'm pretty pleased with the results.

    Father's Day 513T....

The finished product.... The scope is a Tasco 6-24x target/varmint. The rings are Millets. The Bases are Weaver. If he wants that scope, it's fine, but I'm hoping he wants to put something better on it. The sights were removed, I'm holding on to them. I've got a lot of work in it...

    Father's Day 513T....

The D&T job- pretty straight-forward. Index the vice to the mill head. Figure out the spacing, find the center, punch the holes and tap them. Easy squeezy japanesey. Note the huge hole I had to make a plug for, and the associated tool marks, where it looks like the guy who did the first D&T...

    Father's Day 513T....

Back when I was a little kid, my Dad had an old Winchester 75 target model. He bought it at an auction with a ringed bore out near the muzzle, no sights, and drilled and tapped for one of the old stamped steel Weaver side-mount deals. At least it had a 1" scope on it. We killed the hell out of...

    Rimfire Rifle Photos Thread

Yeah, kinda has a TKIV 85 vibe to it..... Threw this together for Pops, for Fathers Day. I think he'll be tickled. Wearing a junker Tasco for now. If it works for him, fine, he can have it, but I'd prefer to see him put something better on it. The Tasco is really just a placeholder...
