Savage MKII Build, ?'s on parts, Technique

Re: Savage MKII Build, ?'s on parts, Technique On the topic of the 6-18 buckmasters, I was looking at those and VXII 6-18 target models, and found the dot to be too large. Like, three or four times as large as the dot in the VXII, with pretty thick crosswires too.

    Gun Show Find

Re: Gun Show Find Very nice! My Dad had a 75 when I was a kid. He bought it at an auction for nothing, with a barrel ringed near the muzzle. He cut it at about 20" and recrowned it. When he got it, it had one of those weaver side-mount bases on it for 3/4" scopes. He drilled and tapped it...

What do you expect from the glass on your trainer?

Re: What do you expect from the glass on your trainer? Yeah, I'd agree that more than 6x on the low end is too much for a small game rifle, in the woods anyway. Even 6x seems a little high sometimes.

Just a pic of my fun-gun

Re: Just a pic of my fun-gun I'm a fan of the Ruger .22 pistols as well. 1958 MKI, customized. Heavy barrel, trigger work. Shoots like crazy. 4" MKII, 4" bull barrel. Since this pic it's had the front sight moved back, the barrel threaded, and wears a thrad protector for the time being...

What do you expect from the glass on your trainer?

Re: What do you expect from the glass on your trainer? I want clear and repeatable. It's got to be reliable, also. I can see holes at 100 with no problem using my 6-18 Leupy. I looked at the Nikon Buckmasters at one point, the thought being that I could buy two of them (~$329, locally)...

    Suppressors Lets see those 1911's!!!!

Re: Lets see those 1911's!!!! 1924 Colt 1911A1. My Grandma's husband left it to me when he passed back in '09. His Dad bought it new in 1924, when he was a volunteer deputy with the York County, PA, Sherrif's Department. My understanding was that they were involved with the revenue...

questions for the snipers on here

Re: questions for the snipers on here I'm definitely not a sniper, but yeah. A nice .22, like a 40X with a good scope, isn't any less of a marksman's tool than a 700 Police or a 10FP. Especially considering that the 40/721/700 utilize pretty much the same manual of arms, use a lot of the...

Any one have any EXperiance with SW MP-22?

Re: Any one have any EXperiance with SW MP-22? A buddy of mine got one a few weeks ago. It's pretty nice. Really, it's an upsized P22. The mags stagger the rims of the casings the same way, the barrel assembly looks identical, but a little longer. It seemed to shoot pretty good, but...

    Rimfire Rifle Photos Thread

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!! New guy here. Been lurking for a while, figured I'd start posting. Anywho, here's my baby. Remington 513T, 1964. Millet Mangle-Lock rings. Leupy VXII 6-18x40, AO, Target knobs, 1/8" dot/FC reticle. When I picked it up, the stock was rough. I...
