Advanced Marksmanship Bolt guns faster than semi in rapid fire comps

Re: Bolt guns faster than semi in rapid fire comps ...and if Carl did not get crap in his rear sight he would have won a 3rd straight Championship with his AR. "did" beats "woulda, shoulda, coulda..." every time. Great shooting by Norm. A deserving champion!

Advanced Marksmanship Bolt guns faster than semi in rapid fire comps

Re: Bolt guns faster than semi in rapid fire comps I'm surprised no one's brought up Rattle Battle. The Service Rifle Match where shooters are dumping accurate rounds prone from 600yds, then 500 then 300yds. I'm looking for a good video for ya'll. If you want to compare Highpower Bolt...

    m1a accuracy?

Re: m1a accuracy? LOL! LegioX, I'm betting we've shared the range at some point and/or know some of the same folk! I shot the PacDiv in 90. Who was the 2112 there while you were shooting? I'll see if I can find some Puuloa pics for you.

    m1a accuracy?

Re: m1a accuracy? LegioX, Nice rifle. Nicer because of the story. Did you spend any time on the Big Team?

    m1a accuracy?

Re: m1a accuracy? The standard for the Big Team guns IIRC was 5, 10 shot groups out of the 300yd test cradle no larger than 3 inches. I believe other guns such as the M39 do 3, 5 shot groups of 3 inches. Curious who your smith was? I've had the good fortune to know a few 2112's over the...

Experience with RRA 2 stage triggers?

Re: Experience with RRA 2 stage triggers? I've got a good amount of time on the RRA, Geiselle, Jewell and a few others. Yes, the RRA will wear in over the first 500 or so rounds. Mine took some touching up at that point. But after that it's been stable for thousands of rounds/dry fires...

    Rifle Scopes Bullet trace

Re: Bullet trace Ouch...that would eat up my entire "toy" budget for 2010! I have the Sony CX500V, which I suppose suits my need (pocket sized, image stabilized, low light and IR capable (for my "hunting" videos)...though I lust for a bigger cam with bigger sensors.

Has the M24 ever been issued in 300WM?

Re: Has the M24 ever been issued in 300WM? Thanks guys. That's more than I had hoped for. I still need to go read the referenced threads, but from what I'm reading on this one, the Navy's Mk13 is more common. The M24 300WM has been available in for limited use for "special" folk? I'll go...

Has the M24 ever been issued in 300WM?

I know that the M24 was produced in the M700LA with the intent of allowing barrelling in 300WM. But back when the folks that I knew were playing with these, no one had ever seen one in 300WM in the troops hands. Has that ever come to pass? Are there troops that actually are shooting 300WM...

Advanced Marksmanship Shooting Eye, too late to swap?

Re: Shooting Eye, too late to swap? While I don't have an answer to Attacus' specific situation (experience and successful scope shooter wanting to switch to dominant eye), I can offer some information regarding 9H's comment about the lack of hard data on following eye dominance. There's a...

AR Rifle Upper - Lower Fit & Impact on Accuracy

Re: AR Rifle Upper - Lower Fit & Impact on Accuracy I've seen folks apply bolt gun methodology and reasoning to AR's without really rigorously having tested what works and what doesn't. I know someone who has though. Bill Wylde is one of the pioneers in accurizing AR's and has his own 500yd...
