    How much recoil can a NightForce BR scope take? I am building a 338/408 and would like to save a few bucks and get the 12-42 BR but don't know if it can stand up to the recoil. Of course the gun will have a brake on it. Anybody every put one of these on a heavy recoiling rifle? How did they...

    Re: Best scope for 338 Edge under $1000? I'd say Leupold 8.5-25x50 VXIII (older model used) or a 10-50x60 SIII sightron. Also you might find a used 8-32 or 12-42 BR Nightforce for right at 1k. I am not sure how any of these scopes will hold up to the recoil. DoubleG
