    Re: Scope options??? I started with a 16x42 ss it was a great scope for the money and when you out grow it you will sell it easily. Remember you will have to get new rings for the 30mm tube.

    Re: heres what Im thinking so far Sounds ok you may like the A4 better just my opinion. If this is your first build may go with a cheaper bottom metal like a williams unless you need the dbm. free up some money for other gear and a good set rings and base. Whose going to do your build?

    Help picking caliber

    Re: Help picking caliber I would go with the 308 reason being longer barrel life than a 300 win mag and banging steel at 600yds with a 308 is fun. It wouldnt be much of a challenge for the 300wm.

    Re: Newb looking for right caliber You will be fine with a 308. Remember your most likely going to go with a heavier barrel I would think which will help with recoil and help with barrel temp. You can always get a muzzle brake or suppresor to help with recoil.
