    Experiences with zippers on packs?

    I lug my 3 gun gear around in a double long gun case, and the zipper is always what kills the case. I've killed a voodoo tactical bag and now my safariland bag is on its last legs as well.

    Looking for a red dot

    Aimpoint T1 is the only red dot as far as I'm concerned. I'd look at the small dot one, but I still shoot better groups with my big dot T1 than my EOTech. Aimpoints are about 10x more reliable as a whole....I've seen an awful lot of broken eotechs and I've never seen a broken aimpoint.

    Adjustable gas blocks, selectable gas blocks

    You're not going to want a JP for that purpose. JP is essentially a set with loctite and forget type block, which is great for its intended use, but not for yours. Syrac makes a pretty cool block that retains the adjustment with a detent, but they only make them in .625 and .750 that I can find.

    Federal small rifle primer slam fires

    The only slamfires I've ever seen (or heard of) in an AR were people using low mass carriers and full mass firing pins. There's a pretty good chance that combo will do it. Even then, the rifles just doubled and were completely undamaged. The fix is to put a Ti firing pin in instead.

    Carbine stock with rifle length gas sys

    I've used both an H and an H2 for that setup. I settled on the H. I even used a plain carbine buffer for some really wimpy ammo.

    I replaced my Wilson 47D's with Tripps. The upper part of the base pads on the Wilsons had deformed to the point that I had to smash them into the gun. Both run great, but the Tripp is a better mag.

    I'd go vtac, either padded or non padded. I've got an MS2 and single point is no good for what you want to do, and the 2 point mode is clunky compared to the vtac. Single point is better suited to short rifles and kicking doors, 2 point is enormously better for walking/hiking/hunting.
