    Consistent seating off lands?

Key word is 'feel'. As I seat the bullet I 'feel' how much or how little resistance I am getting to the bullet seating in the case neck. It's a very crude assessment, but I've a fairly good idea when I have less than normal resistance on seating or more than normal resistance. I measure to...

    Consistent seating off lands?

I work on my neck prep. Secondly, if I feel a bullet has seated deep into the neck (just slipped into the neck) or is hard to seat, I measure the loaded round. If my suspicion is correct, I mark the round up as a fouler. At 100yds +-3 thou is making no odds with my 260 Rem, but if I'm shooting...

New to 6XC, need die reviews!

I had a set of Tubbs dies and sold them. I've both a competition and a std set of Redding dies ready and waiting for the rifle to appear. I might get myself a custom full length resizing die once I have some twice fired brass. Regards JCS

Redding bushing size, .260 Rem w/ Lapua brass.

Clark. Thanks for the suggestion. I've thought about that a few times, however since getting a custom die for my 243 Ackley, I think a custom die is the next step for my 260 Rem. I've used the Forster die all summer with the Nosler brass and I've been pleased with the results. I've sized a...

Suppressors Any loss of accuracy with your suppressors

I've been shooting for about 8 years with sound moderators. I develop my loads can on. I never shoot my rifles without the can in place. I find I shoot better with the sound moderator for a couple of reasons. The whole kit is a little heavier and less muzzle flip. Remington 700 SA in 260 Rem -...

Redding bushing size, .260 Rem w/ Lapua brass.

I have a large set of bushings for my 260 Rem. One thing to consider is what the neck of the fired round measures. The advice I've read is to bring the neck down in no bigger than 5 thou steps. When I look at my notes I see I have used a .293 bushing followed by a .288 bushing with some Nosler...

Suppressors Any loss of accuracy with your suppressors

I've been shooting with sound moderators for nearly 10 years. I find it has helped improve my shooting. Unless there's no alternative, I always use a moderator as per the link. Remington 700 SA in 260 Rem - The Stalking Directory Photo Gallery Regards JCS

    Cold Bore Fligher

Why don't you get someone else to shoot the rifle and see how they do? I find it very frustrating that lots of folk can shoot my rifles better than I can including my 88 year old father. Regards JCS

Forming 260 brass from 308... Is neck turning a must?

It's not a big deal. Nosler brass comes at 2.010 inches straight out of the box. I typically trim Remington brass to 2.027 inches. Regards JCS

    260 Loads Only

With my first 260 Rem, my very first load was H4831SC and 140 gr A-Max and it went well. When I returned to this load recently, I kept getting pressure signs at 46gr or thereabouts with Nosler brass. I've parked this load at the minute...
