    H4831 Data for 260 Rem.

    Following Hornady’s data, I loaded one test round ea. in 1/2 grain increments from 46gr through 49 gr. I quit at that point because the seating stem (hornady’s eld specific stem) started to deform the ogive. No need to go any further than 48.5 IMO. Thanks for the data Mike. That was quite helpful.

    I got ahold of a pic of the Hornady 10th ed. manual. They show 40.2 to 49.9 grains of H4831. They do not list loads using H4350. Hodgdon’s shows 39.7 to 42.7 grains of H4350. Superlative Arms AGB.

    Can anyone give me the load data for this cartridge and bullet from the Hornady manual? In particular, I need data for H4350 and H4831. I have the new Hornady manual on the way, but I hope to start loading before it arrives.

    This is where my money is. If you look closely at the bolt face, you can see that the bolt has a coating on it, and that it has been worn off in places. Inside the recess, you can see that the coating has worn off exactly where the case head would be during firing.
