    Shotshell reloading, question

I've been loading metallic for a few years, but I'm new to shotshell. I've got a mec sizemaster. How do you empty the powder bottle without spilling powder everywhere? Do you just run the charge bar back and forth until it's empty?

    Remington 700s and Cratered Primers?

Re: Remington 700s and Cratered Primers? My 700's crater primers too. Never had a pierce, so I don't worry about it.

    What should I do.

Re: What should I do. I'd buy piece by piece. There's good and bad elements to both those kits, neither is perfect. You'll spend a little more buying all the stuff individually, but you'll have better stuff.

    hornady automatic powder dispenser

Re: hornady automatic powder dispenser I have one. I've only run Varget through it so far. It runs more than .1 gr over maybe 1 in 10 times. Scale is very consistent. I keep checking it with my beam scale, but haven't found one off yet, although I've only done a couple hundred rounds...

    impact bullet puller questions

Re: impact bullet puller questions I always use a collet puller if possible, but an inertial puller will come in handy as well. The Hornady camlock will not mark your bullets as long as you can get the bullet into it past the ogive. I run into a problem there sometimes, most often with 45...

Need your help with 223 ar loads.

Re: Need your help with 223 ar loads. 24-25 grains of TAC under a 55 for me. Meters dead on in my hornady powder measure. I got great results from 4198 as well, but it doesn't meter well for me, so it's more work than I want to put into ar ammo.

    Hornady Lock-N-Load Auto Charge.

Re: Hornady Lock-N-Load Auto Charge. Just wanted to add my experience as well. I got one of these this morning. I just did 50 308s with 45.0 grains of varget. I'm getting a fair number of overcharges. The unit does not alarm for .1 grain over. I have it set on slow, and to start trickle...

Beginning reloader could use some reassurement

Re: Beginning reloader could use some reassurement I had that Lee scale at first. I'm not down on Lee products or anything, but this one is truly bad in my mind. It's not too bad for setting a powder measure, but not so much for weighing individual charges. There's a single plastic slider...

    Reloading 7.62 Nato?...

Re: Reloading 7.62 Nato?... The 7.62 nato spec has a lower pressure than the saami 308 win spec. It's the opposite of the 223 vs. 5.56 situation. Your rifle might have a shorter throat than a normal commercial 308 win rifle, that could be the source of your early high pressure signs. Like...

Hornady lnl ap large cartridge bin, part number?

Can anyone tell me the akro-mils part number for the larger optional bin? I want to pick up a few, but don't want to pay $6 a pop for them from a Hornady reseller.

    FGMM 175 s

Re: FGMM 175 s This is discussed frequently. Projectiles are Sierra match kings. Powder and charge are 42ish grains of something near 4064. Some have said it's imr4064, or 4895, or a proprietary powder. My bet is option 3, but you can get pretty close with the other two.

    Going rate for .308 brass?

Re: Going rate for .308 brass? $20 per hundred is probably about average, but many reloaders do not like federal brass.

What lube do you use for resizing cases?

Re: What lube do you use for resizing cases? Hornady Unique. Never stuck a case with it. Cheap and lasts forever it seems like. I rub a bit on my fingers and just pick up cases. Eventually it's pretty well covering your hand, and you can just sort of squeeze a case and coat it. If I'm...

Dillon super swage and LC brass

Didn't want to hijack the other thread, but it made me think of something. LC 5.56 brass had a thicker web and changed at some point. I noticed when doing a batch of recent headstamp brass (00-08) then switching to some older brass (pre '80), it started to over swage the pockets. Anyone know...

    Dillon super swage?

Re: Dillon super swage? It's by far the easiest and fastest way to deal with mil crimps. The thickness of the web in the case will affect the swage, so cases do need to be sorted.

not really reloading but ammo related GERMAN DAG

Re: not really reloading but ammo related GERMAN DAG I don't think it's great for loading in the US because it's berdan primed.

    Bullet puller

Re: Bullet puller I have the Hornady, no complaints. As long as you can get the collet over the ogive, you'll never damage a bullet.
