Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

I'd went with the Standard DTA brake and am very impressed. For what you are getting in recoil reduction the extra size/weight really doesn't amount to much. My old .338lm(custom Rem 700p in AICS) used to beat the shit out of me with 300gr SMK loads, I feel like I could shoot all day with the...

Anything is possible but I'm gonna say no. Probably couldn't even get a used chassis for that.

I shot my .338LM SRS today with the standard brake and it works GREAT. A LOT less recoil than my old .338LM with a Badger FTE(and it's a lot stouter load). I shot at a small IPSC target at 300yds and was able to see impact. What caliber are you using?

    Looking for bullets

Your best bet is to place a few back orders at different places and wait. Keep an eye on the EE here. Good luck.

    Gas mask?

I'm looking to purchase a gas mask that will fit under a US military issue Kevlar helmet. I have a budget of around $150 but wouldn't mind spending less. From what I've been reading it's best to get a new one in the wrap so it will be more reliable. NBC protection would be nice, i will probably...

    Share your DTA loads!

What is the most amount of H1000 you guys have been putting behind a 300gr bullet(.338 Lapua)? I've been using the load below and it's been very accurate and pretty fast. I am seeing some ejector marks on the bottom of the base/rim. No flattened primers or stiff bolt. Max is 92.2 of H1000 in the...

    First time annealing

6 point IIRC. No cons that i can think of. Once you get a rhythm down you can get going pretty fast. My .338 Lapua bit doesn't mate up that well and wobbles a bit. I hold my finger at the base of the socket and it steadies it out. I usually just do a 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, etc count and...

    Recommend me a powder trickler

I just got a Redding trickler for my portable kit and was surprised at how heavy it is. I thinking there must be lead in the base. I think I paid $11.

Buy a $10 electric screwdriver then get the adapter that fits to said sockets. To find the right sockets just take your brass to the hardware store and find some that they will fit into, like in my pic. You're GTG. Less than $20 and pretty fast.

    Other cleaning media???

Harbor Freight has one for about $60 that my friend has been using. He says it works real well. Another reason I'm reluctant to go with the Thumler's Tumbler is that it doesn't really hold that much brass. If I was gonna go the SS route I'd wanna get a bigger container(and not pay $700 for the...

    Other cleaning media???

A lot of my friends have been talking up ultra sonic cleaners lately. I guess it only takes 20mins to clean the hell out of the cases. My main concern is how long it takes for them to dry.

I have one of your covers on my rifle and i like it a lot. I like how it covers the area right behind the magwell, it tends to get scratched up otherwise.

    RCBS Case Prep Center tricks/add-ons

I snagged one of these a little while back and have been trying to maximize it's usefulness. I've found that the Lyman deburr tool works light years better than the RCBS one. It has a rod that goes up through the center and three teeth. Sometimes after trimming a case I get a little lip on the...

    First time annealing

What is dangerous about applying heat for an extended period to the neck is that it radiates to the body of the case. Not to mention that, on the water quenching annealing video, when he put the torch on the neck of one case it was directly on the body of the next one in line. I wonder how many...

Where on the rail have you guys been placing your bipod? Why did you pick that location? I have a Atlas and have been running it out towards the end of my SRS and then folding it backwards. I'm seeing a few of you guys running yours a few inches back and was wondering why.

RCBS Chargemaster VS Lyman DPS III (powder dispensers)

You needed an extra straw? I'll be throwing a lot of Varget, H1000, and other long grain powders.

Suppressors Suppressor on a lightweight AR barrel? Accuracy issues?

I have a titanium YHM 5.56 suppressor and am thinking about getting a 16" lightweight AR barrel to use it with(only barrel in stock anywhere). It's not a pencil barrel but it is lightweight. I'll link the barrel below. The suppressor only weighs 12 ounces but I'm not sure if that is enough to...

RCBS Chargemaster VS Lyman DPS III (powder dispensers)

I do not have the money for a Prometheus so I need to figure out which one to get. Has anyone had experience with both? If so, what was your impressions of them? Please share your opinions/experience with both models. I know the Lyman DPS has the "auto-reset" function which allows you to key in...

I would think the sun shade might offer some more protection for the front of the scope. Also, I can't remember who it was that said they did a bubba'd covert conversion on their SRS but I would be interested to know how it turned out and how you did it. If anyone else knows, would there any...
