    Savage Axis

The stock is a problem i noticed as well. fix that, an do a quick trigger job and it's a dandy of a rifle though for the money

    Disappointed at range today

The guy is right. load testing should be done in something to take as much human error out as absolutely possible. you wont' know the true potential of your rifle, or your ammo until you do that.

    Savage Axis

could there possibly be a better low end rifle than the savage axis? it feel decent, and shoots far better! I have experience with 2, the first shoots 1/3 moa with handloads, and the second shoots moa with whatever. couldn't be happier for 340 on a stainless rifle. anyone have anything but good...

    long range .22 lr

We were shooting at a steel cut out of a ram, slightly smaller than life size i'd say. perhaps i shouldn't have said "practice" it's more for fun. I find It fun to push the limits, of course it's not practical to use a .22 lr for anything but toying around beyond 200. I may try a walkie at the...

    long range .22 lr

What's the longest you all practice with your .22's? My friend and I were ringing steel at 485 this weekend. couldn't quite figure out the 600 yard gong yet. We'll give it another try next time we're at the range.

    338 Lapua vs 1" steel

As far as the distance shot goes, the lapua doesn't lose much energy between 100 and 500 yards. they're a rocket with a real high bc. impressive either way! sweet rig man!

Are Air rifles the pacifier or alternative to ammo availability & cost?

I've been considering buying an air rifle too, not for ammo reasons, but because i could feasibly shoot it in my basement in the winter here in minnesota comfortably.

    savage 16?

I've been kicking around the idea of buying a 22-250 and I've decides on a savage. I started looking around for a mdl 10 and i found a mdl 16 stainless at the local gunshop for 470. What are the advantages/disadvantges? I intend to rebarrel at some point anyway, and i don't mind the .204 for...
