    Deep South Tactical?

Looking to see if anyone here has ever dealt with Deep South Tactical. They have 700 barreled actions with bartlein barrels for $1k. Actions are blueprinted. Seems like a good deal.

    30-06 any love anymore?

Not to derail the thread but those two bombs didn't force the japs to surrender as much as we want to believe it. They surrendered because of the commies. And btw, I love the 30-06 which was probably the number one caliber of the hunting camps I grew up in. My favorite rifle is my dad's...

    APO Saber M700 sale

Looks like this sale ended - a day late and a dollar short. Was going to pick one up in .308.

    Ruger American Rifle Hunter

Does anyone have experience with the new Ruger American Rifle Hunter edition? It appears to have a heavier barrel profile, similar to a RPR and comes in a Magpul stock. Looking at picking up a new rifle to just tinker around with and use for hunting / light target shooting. Already have a CTR...

    6.5 grendel options

I am looking for a 6.5 grendel upper and don't find a lot of options out there on the interweb. Any recommendations? I thought about just building one but would prefer to find one complete from a reputable company. Would like to keep cost around a grand and want an 18 inch barrel. Will be...

PVA Status Updates: Hancock Rifle & NUCLEUS Barreled Action

Again, mine is a simple observation. The rifles were ordered (pre-ordered) from PVA not from Arc, Rock Creek, KRG, etc. At the end of the day it's your money, not mine. I'm a finance guy and just have a hard time floating a vendor for anything, much less something that is supposed to be...

PVA Status Updates: Hancock Rifle & NUCLEUS Barreled Action

I find myself asking, in what other line of work would this even be remotely acceptable? We are talking rifles, not space shuttles or even Tesla's for that matter. I buy hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of highly complex components a week, and yes, sometimes there are delays but then...

    Daniel Defense bolt action

I agree 100%. I wish more companies offered 7mm-08 in their rifle offerings. While 6.5 is the flavor of the month, most of the ammo offerings are focused on match ammo. The little 7mm-08 has a wide array of hunting rounds available from 120-160 grain which is great for someone like myself who...

Seekins PH1 or Tikka T3X in 6.5 Creedmoore

Depends on how you define worth. The Seekins is lighter, threaded and has arguably a nicer trigger. However, I don't think you can go wrong with either as a hunting rifle and both should bang steel out to your stated distance. I am currently outfitting my CTR as my go to hunting rifle and I...

Tikka T3 Lite vs CTR Hunting

Agree 100%. I had the privilege of taking my 10 year old to a hunting ranch in East Texas which is almost 8,000 acres. I was shocked at the shooting distances we encountered on each stand, with shots over 500 yards available on each stand. I know people that have hunted at this place before...

    Best hunting rifle under $750

My local gun store has the Mauser M18 on sale for $599 and that includes a free Minox 3-10x50 scope. Hard to beat that for a hunting rifle.

    Rifle Scopes Dot reticle?

I'm probably looking for a unicorn but does anyone make a variable power scope with just a dot reticle - nothing else? I'm thinking along the lines of an aimpoint but with high magnification (10+). Don't know why but I would love to have one for hunting.

Tikka T3X CTR Failure to Eject

Well she is all back from Tikka and now throwing brass across the room. It was the extractor, nothing more. Thanks again to Eurooptic for helping out and for Tikka for the quick turnaround.

Tikka T3X CTR Failure to Eject

Will try to post pics later today. Brass looks perfectly fine. Rifle was shipped off to Tikka last night thankfully due to the help from Eurooptic. We will see what Tikka says. I am literally a week over my warranty as the gun has been a safe queen so hopefully they take care of me.

Tikka T3X CTR Failure to Eject

Well after some help from Eurooptic I was able to get a rep from Beretta to call me. They want me to ship the whole rifle back. I am starting to think it may be a headspace issue but time will tell.

Tikka T3X CTR Failure to Eject

Thanks again for the replies. Hopefully Beretta can help. I had the gun in the safe for a while and finally got around to getting my scope and muzzle brake in to take it to the range. Something has to be out of spec but it was definitely disappointing to get out to the range and have this...

Tikka T3X CTR Failure to Eject

Forgive my gunsmithing ignorance. The extractor feels kind of week - it pushes out easily but doesn't have a lot of tension. The first round came out when a slight tap on the buttock. The other rounds I removed with a cleaning rod, with very little force. Brass rims on the spent casings all...

Tikka T3X CTR Failure to Eject

Yes, the spring is definitely strong. Almost hard to push down.

Tikka T3X CTR Failure to Eject

129 grain Hornady factory loads. Failure to extract. Spent casing stays in the chamber. Bolt face looks fine as far as I can tell. The rifle also managed to shoot just fine for the few rounds I did fire.
