Benchrest primers and Fed. Gold Medal Match

This will be my first time loading my 308 with LRP and choosing seems to be a crap shoot. I understand that 1 may work better in my gear than another. My question is are these match/benchrest primers more consistent? I really don't mind spending the extra funds if they are better. What is the...

Rifle Scopes Talley 1 piece rings

First I want to start by saying once I collect enough pennies to get the scope I want the 1 inch scope and rings will be retired or re-purposed. Until then, I need 1 inch rings for what I have and stumbled on Talley. Bases and rings are 1 piece. What is the public opinion of these?

    DBM kit/upgrade

You dumped metal DBM kits or BDL's for poly DBM?

I took this advice and now I'm on target. Thanks guys.

    DBM kit/upgrade

By this you mean other DBM upgrades other than Badger's? I just used Badger as an example because I knew most everyone would know what I was talking about. I have seen some from Pacific Tool and Gauge as cheap as $100, of course they are using ATI mags not AI, but if they work I'm ok with it. I...

    DBM kit/upgrade

I have a Rem700 ADL with a Choate Ultimate Varmint stock. This stock is not inlet for the BDL or DBM which has suited me fine until now. I have an interest in going with DBM like the Badger M5. Correct me if I'm wrong but for the DBM to be installed I would simply have my smith inlet stock for...

what is your preference on type of cleaners for brass.

I was under the impression that tumblers didn't clean inside the case as well as sonic cleaners. Mind you, I'm still new to reloading.

    Gunsmithing torque wrench

Good point. I can't see me having a $50 torque wrench calibrated.

    Gunsmithing torque wrench

At this time I can't think of needing to torque more than action screws at 65 in/lbs, therefore I will say from 0-65in/lbs is my needed range.

    Gunsmithing torque wrench

Can you gentlemen recommend a quality torque wrench that won't cost me a bunch? I only use one a few times a year but don't want to trust my torque settings to crap tooling. Gary

    PPU brass

7, no crimp and no sealant, I bet the match brass is the same but now I'm debating getting a box just to see

    PPU brass

I would not have expected the brass to be different. In fact I would have thought that would be the one constant. Is there any evidence of this? I have been collecting regular PPU brass. Thought about buying some match but what's the point, I want to load my own.

    Redding 1400XT case trimmer

I trimmed some 308 with my Redding today. I was able to get them to 2.005 consistently. I still am not sold on the Redding as the trimmer for me but for now, since I'm new to reloading and have other expenses, it is what I have and use. Thank you gentlemen for your input and advise.

    practice dummy

Great info, thanks. I would be a liar if I said I never anticipate the reaction. I have nothing to gain by lying. I shoot on private property almost always alone, at the firing line anyway. I will load some dummies with no powder or primer and practice that way at the line. Thanks again.

    PPU brass

I'm hearing nothing negative about it so I'll keep and load it. Thanks guys.

    practice dummy

I once read that it is helpful to practice by dry firing. This is to know the trigger, have proper body position become comfortable/natural, and muscle memory. In that article it was stated that a dummy round should be used. Obviously no powder charge and a piece of pencil eraser in place of the...

    Redding 1400XT case trimmer

I got this online and it is in good shape. I trimmed some cases Sunday with it and found I could not get a finer adjustment than around .005". Is that normal for this type trimmer? What tolerance is required for superior quality hand loads? Or, should I trim close to the minimum, and as long as...
