Rifle Scopes LEO sniper in need of new glass.

I'm on my 2nd one...reticle is borderline unusable below 8x, and almost invisible at 3-4x. Even at 10x, the reticle is too small. I have not figured out how they screwed up the reticle size so much, I can only assume the same assembly(?) is used across multiple scopes, including the 24x...

What kind of glass does the ACOG use? And who else uses the same glass?

Try a TA33 or TA11, and the eye relief is just about perfect...they just don't have quite the field of view as a TA01 or TA31.

    FDN 17X owners, chime in.

Playing around with both again today, the glass is definitely sharper on the FDN. Another improvement with the FDN, the rotational travel from 3.2-17x is much less than with the SN3. I still much prefer the illumination controls on the older SN3, though....and the illumination on the SN3 is...

I may be out of the loop, but did all the USO "hate" start with the BX series?

    FDN 17X owners, chime in.

Depends a lot on which stock you are using. M40 style stock (HS Prec, B&C, McMillan) with straight comb? Mediums (maybe even lower with some bases) should be fine to clear the objective. On both of my AICS stocks, I have to run high rings simply to keep proper cheek weld...

    FDN 17X owners, chime in.

I'm not a big fan, either....then again, I'm not a big fan of buttons on any optic. My favorite illumination control is the Vortex Viper PST style, which has an "OFF" option between brightness setting. I have an older 34mm tube SN3 3.2-17x EREK with the MOA reticle & red illumination, an...

    Kauger Arms?

Yeah, there isn't a lot of information on the website...and even fewer reviews/threads online. I was mainly interested as they are somewhat local.

    Kauger Arms?

Anyone familiar with Kauger Arms actions? I'm considering having an 18-20" .308 built, and I found a short action VPR locally. Anyone have any experience with the actions, and how do they compare with others in the $800 range?

    Help identifying .270 win rifle

The Kimbers I've seen like this one were all 6.5x55's, and marked as such on the barrels. They also had Ramline stocks, this one looks like just like another generic Mauser action sporterized with a low profile safety and aftermarket synthetic stock. Are there any barrel markings?

    25/35 WCF Whatcha got?

I have the somewhat "modern" version, a .25 Bullberry in a 15" TC Contender. I'm in the process of fireforming a bunch of brass I resized from 1x fired Win .30-30, using bulk 115gr BT spitzers and either 4895 or 4064. I know Hodgdon lists data on their reloading site, using 60-117gr bullets...

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

My first "custom" rifle was a .308 built on an FN SPR action and McMillan stock by Accurate Ordnance. For some reason, I could never make myself like the action or setup, even though I still have the orginal fluted 20" barrel laying around somewhere.

    US Optics vs Vortex Razor

I went ahead and ordered the USO FDN-17 3.2-17x. My 22" 7mm-08 has an older SN3 3.2-17 with the MOA scale type 1, so I went with the IGR on the FDN....might as well stick with what I'm familiar with! Plus, couldn't really turn down the price from Midway...
