Sidearms & Scatterguns Need advice on a fixed blade for a bug out bag.

The main thing is don't look at the name and say oh wow Spyderco makes a great knife and this ones only $32 https://www.knifeworks.com/new/spyderco-fb46gp-bow-river-4-4-8cr13mov-plain-trailing-point-blade-black-gray-g-10-handles.html Then they get it and realize it's $32 worth of Chinese shit...

Cold steel has alot of Chinese shit, some decent stuff also just like many other makers. Just remember if it's something you value enough to trust your life to then pay attention to the steel. It amazes me the people who would never consider a cheap high point or Taurus pistol for a bug out...

This is called carbon steel addiction these are just the ones in my sock drawer... Some heavily used some gifts that I didn't realize I stuck in my sock drawer. Out of all those it's pretty easy to see the esee4 has seen some action lol. I once asked that same question which one knife should I...

Friends don't let friends use vg10. That said the falknivens reallyaren't bad choices and top quality blades. Becker bk9/junglas and an izula or eskabar or esee 3 combo is covering bases Folder is worthless unless your cutting boxes or opening letters... Hatchet is about as worthless.

PRS Talk Preferred trainer rifle caliber?

224 Valkyrie, it's cheap to reload or cheap to buy at Walmart. Ballistics closer to what I actually shoot and as a bonus I can actually use it to compete with or can let a friend or one of the kids use.

The kabar is an excellent fighting knife so is the Applegate neither one is a Bushcraft type knife. Op needs to evaluate needs, if he wants a knife to fight his way back home then the kabar is a stellar choice. If op wants to stay warm and build some shelter then kabar isn't exactly an optimal...

The coating on any of the 1095 blades such as the ESEE or Becker Knives can be removed in about 10 minutes with a towel and some paint stripper. Most of my blades have long since had the coating stripped either by use or paint stripper.... The ones that got the stripper I gave them the personal...

Not too sidetrack... The answer to the op is to find what feels comfortable in your price range and use it, get comfortable with it so when you need it you can use it effectively. Imo the answer is the esee 4, the three is too little and has a shitty plastic sheath, the five is ridiculously...

Well it's a hell of a kit knife then. No problems with any of them I've owned and used (my knives get used).

What the f#ck does that mean. I have several bark river knives, a Canadian special that has skinned pretty much a zoo full of animals has been beat on batoned on dug holes cut everything imaginable and still pretty much looks good enough to hang on a wall. Its not what I would choose for a bug...

Gerber lmf stays in my truck the lack of a full Tang makes me hesitant to put it in a bug out bag.

Esee great choice but the 4 is the sweet spot not the three. If your gonna wear it on your hip then the three can be debated. Four is much more usable. Look also at the tops Bob or the bark river bravo

Prefit barrels for Bighorn Arms TL3 Action

I've had the head space vary on pretty much all of my Bighorn barrels some will close with resistance on a no-go some not at all. As stated above though I reload so does it really matter?

Dale Earnhardt crashes, survived and pokes bear

I live just about 10m from where this happened. That airport is on the edge of Holston Mountain its a murderous bitch to land at and the mountain comes on you very quickly (ask Alan Kulwicki or any of the other dozens of crashes on that mountain). Dale jr's was a hard landing plain and simple...

Prefit barrels for Bighorn Arms TL3 Action

The beauty of Proof and Experticity is the impossible to beat pricing... the downfall is the Saami spec and the sheer lack of calibers they offer it in. If I was going 6.5CM, 223, 308 6.5x47 or even 6cm then without a doubt I go proof/experticity. But thats all they offer, they do offer more...

It will fit in the mpa comp chassis but not the hybrid (may fit in the new hybrid). Call mpa to be certain. I have no clue about the KRG
