Judging Reaction - Halo style 10/22 conversion

Okay, I'll be a dissenting voice here. I'm 60. Never played Halo in my life, though my sons (10 & 13...didn't discover sex till I was 40 LOL) play it a lot. They also are respectable shooters...both average 1.5" at 100yds with their Marlins, both can put all shots on target at 15yds with a 1911...

Anyone have a DIY Deployment Kit?

Not really to worried. Being that I live in Northern Alberta...and a two hour range is about 15000 sq km...a lot of trouble for someone to go to hoping to find a tent LOL

Anyone have a DIY Deployment Kit?

I think the need to have a long range precision weapon in a realistic bug out situation is kinda absurd. But in the case of a New Orleans/Fukushima scenario I think our family is covered. We have a bug out kit that contains food/water for a couple of weeks, prescription meds for 6 months and a...

    All in one gear bag

Have been using (at least twice weekly range trips) a .511 Rush 24 for two years now that is loaded to the gills. Has held up well except for one little thing (which I hate to admit to). We were at the range one day and was using the pack as front support for an AR. Didn't realize it had crept...

    Another "What Scope" question

We have two of these Leapers UTG 1" 6-24X50 AO RGB Mil-dot Zero Lock/Reset Scope (SCP-U6245AORGW) on my sons Marlin Bolt actions. Have had them for about 2 years and both have about 5000 rounds minimum on them. They've been dragged all over the prairies gopher hunting and have given us zero...

    Caldwell bipod?

Really, it depends on your application. I have a Harris on my Rem 700. I have a Caldwell on my Savage .22WMR. The Harris is definitely miles ahead of the Caldwell. But my Savage is used 95% off of the bench at 100-150m and the Caldwell has worked flawlessly for over 2 years. At less than 1/3 the...

The Archer and the Arrow - A Discussion

So much of what you say is true George. Too many egos and b.s. out there for my liking. Although I find that forums like this can have a wealth of info, it's gotten to the point where I very seldom open threads that start off with 'here's my great grouping this weekend'. I know it will be...

My 12yr old ringing some steel at 100yds

Here's my nine year old behind his Marlin .22. At 100m he's shooting 1.5" groups with CCI SV. He's been shooting about 3 years now. Very proud of him.

    Best rifle data book.

Another one for Impact. Great books, awesome service.

The Archer and the Arrow - A Discussion

Another thing to consider is why one competes. Back to my auto racing analogy. Lots of drivers (some of whom are very good) happily compete with inexpensive equipment because they are there to have fun. If you're shooting/driving/whatever for fun then competing in the middle of the pack can be...

The Archer and the Arrow - A Discussion

Okay...another analogy. I used to race Formula Ford and Production sports cars. There was always the wunderkin who would show up to race on a limited budget and blow a lot of much better machinery into the weeds. But there were always the guys who had just as much skill, plus better...

    Atlas Bi-Pod Junk???

So...your opening post starts off..."Before all you guys that tend to ride what ever trend is hot and start running your mouths" And you're upset about being called a troll?? A little thinned skinned aren't you missey?? Or just hypocritical?? (in big boy terms, read that as 'bitchy') And please...

    Atlas Bi-Pod Junk???

Oh...I think it is warranted. He starts a thread using inflammatory and aggressive language about a product HE DOESN'T APPEAR TO OWN. He handled it at a Shot Show for crying out loud. (I looked at a Rolex once in a store and the strap was too big so it must be piece of crap!!) And then he never...

Anybody else buy a PWS T3? I will never buy anything from PWS again.

Okay, just a comment... " After trying to call them hundreds of times with no answers or returned calls " " Then after that I couldn't get anyone to answer any phone calls. For several days" Okay...so, hundreds of phone calls in a several days...what, a call every couple of minutes. I wouldn't...

Secret Ops Mission that NO one is aware of... MISSION HELLO KITTY.

Okay, I know there are SF forces that will be heading to Iraq. But this..... ;) Really...great to see.

    Kids first rifle

Yup...nothing better than starting them early. My nine year old at 'work' :)

The "Other Guys" Rant... Why some many are so eager ...

In my line of work (I supply optics to a number of Canadian LE agencies) I've come to look at this place as one of the best to get no bullshit info on stuff I just don't know about. One of only a couple of forums I check on a daily basis at least. I count myself privileged to be someone you've...

    Ray Bans??

They have me trained, all right. A few years back my sons each received a Red Ryder for Christmas...their first guns (they were 8 & 5 at the time). The following summer we were shooting at some tin cans...theirs were set up at about 20' and mine were at 30yds (I was shooting a pellet gun). They...

    Ray Bans??

I think I'll just use them for driving as such. Can't really find a lot of info in regards to their impact resistance. My son's are 10 and 13 and these took a fair chunk out of their allowance savings so there's now way I'd trade them for something else ;-)
