I have the 0561 and love it. It has a lot better feel than the 0300 or 0350 due to a narrower profile. The scales give you great grip, and its a beast of knife, no blade play at all. I got to play around with a Ontario RD7 and a RAT7, and they are both awesome knives, especially for what you're thinking. They're simple, got a good bit of heft to them, and are razor sharp. Not too expensive either. Both do come in 9" and 10.25" models if you want bigger.- gatorforgeck
