    Triangular Shaped Groups

Hey all, I'm load developing for my .223. It's a heavy barrel Rem700. I was out last night with a buddy, and as I was shooting, the light was fading out. Long story short, 3 of 4 groups came in under an inch (3 shots each), but they were all triangles... shot about 9-oclock, shot about 1:30...

    .308 BCG weight

Re: .308 BCG weight That's going to be a really carry-able rifle once you hit that weight. My SASS weights 11.5 lbs before scope/sling/ammo, not my favorite hunting rifle...

    .308 BCG weight

Re: .308 BCG weight What's your weight goal (if there's a goal instead of just an accounting of weight), and what's your end duty for this weapon? I've been trying to come up with a few good ways of offsetting some weight for the suppressor I've theoretically got coming, and smoothing out...

M1A vs Ar-10, am I too infatuated with the M1A?

Re: M1A vs Ar-10, am I too infatuated with the M1A? I own a lightly modified Springfield M1A and a DPMS SASS. I've got POS scopes on both. The M1A has a 1962 H&R barrel/bolt on Springy's 'modern' (read: ATF approved) receiver, a Sadlak NM recoil spring guide and a couple of shims (.015"...

    H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad?

Re: H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad? Yeah, I'll chrono everything and hope the damned thing is functional. I'd love one of those new bayonet chronographs... Oh well

    H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad?

Re: H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad? BTW, afrancke, apparently there was an update to QL in November that had CFE233 in it. I'm not trying to make you my bitch, just saying if there are any other powders you don't have, they might be in there. Thanks again for all your help on this!!

    H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad?

Re: H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad? afrancke, any chance can you run me QL on RL15 and 17, H414 and CFE 223? If you've got better things to do I won't complain. Unless one of those can get me to 2300+ w/o violating the 'dangerous' range at +10% between lots, I'm going to stick...

    H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad?

Re: H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad? Wow, now THAT'S what I call a response. Thank you! This is exactly what I needed (besides shelling out the $ I don't have for a copy of this program)! Settles the question about using H110... I wonder why RCBS had (has?) it in their cast...

    H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad?

Re: H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad? OK, so here's where I BTT and ask if anybody with QuickLoad can give me any recommendations. I need to seat to a max OAL of 2.820 or my mags won't feed. Nominal dimension for the Win .308 case, from 6th Ed. Sierra manual, is as follows: Height...

    H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad?

Re: H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad? Any thoughts on the RL-17 craze with 208s atm? Doesn't Varget have a similar retardant for pressure control purposes?

    H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad?

Re: H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad? Thanks, Mtn I'm planning on staying as safe as I can. I've got lots of Varget so it's a very tempting choice, I'm just under the impression it won't cut the mustard with such a heavy bullet? Any experience on this one?

    Range Report 308 Win, 208 AMax, RL17

Re: 308 Win, 208 AMax, RL17 MM et al., I've been watching this thread with some interest. I have not however, gone and looked through all 56-odd pages post-by-post. What, if anything, can you tell me about seating these massive 208gr pills in something like a DPMS magazine with an internal...

    H110 in 18" Bbl .308-somebody w/ QuickLoad?

OK guys, here's one for ya: I've got a a DPMS 18" heavy barrel .308. I'm looking for a way to get the 208 AMAX, seated to mag depth (let's say about 2.820-ish) to give me about 2300-2400 fps out of the .308 case. The thought occurred to me that H110 is about my favorite powder in the .460 S&W...

    Loads for Semi-Auto 308

Re: Loads for Semi-Auto 308 Has anybody got a 208 Amax load for the DPMS SASS worked up yet? I'm pondering how to make it work from the 18" barrel...

    M1A Super Match

Re: M1A Super Match Longdistance, I've got a non NM M1A that shoots sub-moa. I've shimmed the gas system ($5) and put in a Sadlak guide rod ($50, I think) and that's it... If you're going for a NM, you should be in fine hands. Of course, for that money I'd go get a LRB M1A, much nicer weapon.

    Getting the M1A bug

Re: Getting the M1A bug Personally, I LOVE my M1A, but I'm selling it. Too long, too inaccurate, and too finicky, compared to my new LR308... Just gotta find a good home for it now...

    Which 308 AR

Re: Which 308 AR DPMS SASS at $2k is a no-brainer. No need to do anything with it but load and shoot. I'm no great shakes behind a trigger, and mine shoots sub .5 MOA with GMM 168s, at least when I take my time. When I fire as fast as I can reacquire my target (like I said, no great...

    Ejector swipes from my SASS?

Re: Ejector swipes from my SASS? I'd say it's more important to have a quantity of brass from the same manufacturer than anything else but safety. I'm sure the FC stuff will do just fine, it's just going to lose cosmetic smurfiness sooner than later...
