The cheapest of the cheap. What to buy?

Jesus Guys, give the guy a break. Sometimes I'm shocked people still come here and ask questions with all the bitching and moaning. To the OP, any REAL shooter will tell you to just get behind any gun you can and shoot it--that's how you gain skill, knowledge, and wisdom. It doesn't have to...

Please talk me out of a new handgun, the Glock 19x

I just looked to see what a 19x was, seems really stupid to me. I'd rather go the other way, 17 size slide with 19 size grip

Please talk me out of a new handgun, the Glock 19x

I've own or have owned just about everything (modern pistols) from many Sigs, M&P's, H&K's, Glocks, lots of 1911's, Springfields, etc. And I keep coming back to the Glocks for one simple reason. They work perfectly for me in every way, every time. I can't say that about any other gun. That...

Baltimore Cops Kept Toy Guns to Plant Just in Case They Shot an Unarmed Person

If it were human nature to do such acts, then why don't all humans engage in this behavior, as it is in their nature? Why do some spend their lives fighting against such nature? Why does society as a whole not approve of these human nature acts? Seems if it were in our nature, we would...

    Redding seating micrometer question

I'd just look at a whole new Forster seating die https://www.brownells.com/reloading/reloading-dies/rifle-dies/ultra-micrometer-seater-dies-prod59246.aspx

    Redding seating micrometer question

It might work, but the problem I foresee is not with the micrometer, but with the die body. The 300 win die will be much taller than a .308 and might not allow the .308 round to go up high enough into the 300 die to seat a bullet.

Why is 6 Dasher a thing?

    haha so true!!

Why is 6 Dasher a thing?

It's also super fun to hit golf balls at like 600 yards while guys with super magnums that recoil like crazy can barely hit an 8" plate. Especially when right before they were talking hella shit. The ability to focus on fundamentals is priceless

Signs that its time to anneal?

Obviously won't hurt anything, but don't automatically think you have to anneal. I have in the past, but honestly saw no changes. So I don't make it part of my normal process. My unannealed 20th fired Lapua brass still holds 1/3 moa out to 500 yards or more and has single digit st devs just...

    Muzzle Brakes

You don't need a brake on a 6.5 CM--learn to shoot without it first--you'll be a better shooter, and definitely more liked at the range!!

    Good gear for a beginner?

@alfack, Do you have any reasons or evidence to support those opinions? My reason for asking is, I completely disagree, my experiences don't at all match your opinions. I've found my reloading speed to actually increase using a Dillon over a single stage. Further, since I have both the FL...

    Newb 6.5 Creed dies

Bolt Gun--no dents--you should at least try it. FWIW, I load my 223 AR ammo with a Dillon Carbide FL die, expander ball LEFT IN. Different techniques for different applications.

    Good gear for a beginner?

    1. Both my single stage presses, Rockchucker and Big Boss 2 have been relegated to the back of the reloading room, they are virtually never used. The Dillon 550 is a simple machine, I've watched many people who have never reloaded a single round in their lives buy a 550 and set it up just...

    Good gear for a beginner?

And accuracy doesnt suffer any using the Dillon. In fact, I would bet floating dies on a Dillon actually produce straighter (less runout) ammo than fixed dies on a single stage. I have no data to back this claim--Just a shooter's prediction based on a fair amount of experience

    Good gear for a beginner?

Dillon 550. You could easily go the rest of your life with only this one press and be perfectly content. Why buy a single stage now and a progressive later? If you can set up a sizing and seating dies on a SS, you can set them up on a progressive.

    Shoulder Bump Question

Ummm....OK, here goes. Throw that comp shell holder in a cubboard somewhere and use a normal one. Then, set your die up as one would normally. Screw the die down 'til it touches the shellholder, measure, and then adjust the die up or down to get your desired shoulder bump.

    Newb 6.5 Creed dies

Here is an active thread asking the same question, might give you some additional info... https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/forum/sniper%C2%92s-hide®-advance-marksmanship-unit/sniper-s-hide-reloading/6831996-just-getting-into-reloading-6-5-creed-which-dies ...and some more...
