Range Report Applied Ballistics Mobile now available for iPhone

I'll pass this along. On my iPod, this feature works fine. Try enabling the 'save last environment' switch, at least that way it will keep the environment you entered. In the mean time, I'd like to ask others to comment on this feature; if it works for you or not, and what device you're...

Your observation with the G7 default is a legitimate bug that's being addressed. Good idea for text on the blank screen.

I see what you're talking about. Passing it on for correction. It is possible to manually select G1 or G7, but you're right about how it should default. Thanks for the feedback, -Bryan

There is no computer interface for the websync, it functions like a cloud in the sense that you sync up to save, or sync down to recover. The intent is not a separate development space, but rather a back up for your data so you don't loose profiles when you lose or break a phone. -Bryan

You have to enable the option in 'preferences' where it says the app can use your location. Of course your device needs to have GPS capability. We'll add your reticle to the list of requests, which we develop from and update the app periodically. Thanks for your feedback, -Bryan

Can you elaborate on what specific features you would like to see in a ballistics app? AB Mobile has many features useful for trajectory prediction, it's possible some of the things that you're looking for are there but you haven't come across them yet. -Bryan

The instruction manual is here: http://appliedballisticsllc.com/AB_app.htm You'll see screenshots from the android version, but the functionality/flow is the same for iPhone. HumbleEinstein, If you select G7 for the drag model, use a BC of .243 for that bullet. It can be entered manually, but...

Range Report Nosler LR Accubonds: BC testing results

The remaining bullets have been tested, and the results updated in the OP as well as here: The 7mm 175 grain LRAB was tested in a 1:7" twist, while the 190 and 210 were each tested in 1:8" and 1:10" twist barrels. The .30 cal 190 grain was stable (SG over 1.5) in the 1:10" twist, and...

The Archer and the Arrow - A Discussion

One thing I'll point out (sorry if it's already been addressed), is that the importance of equipment vs. shooter depends a lot on the objective/application/competition. If you're competing in XTC (position shooting; standing, sitting, prone) then the result is more heavily weighted on the...

Range Report Nosler LR Accubonds: BC testing results

Daniel, The Modern Advancements series will be offered in eBook format, but not for like 6 months after the hardcopy is out, so around January. To answer your question, I get more profit from hard-copy sales than electronic copies. Take care, -Bryan

Range Report Nosler LR Accubonds: BC testing results

I've been able to get my hands on 4 out of the 7 LR Accubonds; everything up thru 7mm 168 grain. The following summarizes my BC testing of these bullets. One of the big questions is: are the BC's actually as high as they're claimed/advertised to be? See the chart below for a summary of my...

My first stupid question on SH

My load, 105 Hybrids seated 0.015" off in a 1:8" H4350 in Lapua brass, match primer. 3200 fps+ in a 30" barrel match rifle. Easy to chamber for 2.810" if you wanna mag feed, and smokin' at 1000+. I've won many matches with this combo in a short time. It will fly well beyond 1000 too. -Bryan

Range Report Applied Ballistics Kestrel; Pro staff support thread

I'm preparing to push an update to the BC and Custom drag model library sometime next month. I've got data on over 100 new bullets that will push to all AB solvers (Kestrel, apps, etc) soon which does include the 215 Hybrid. Take care, -Bryan

Range Report Applied Ballistics Kestrel; Pro staff support thread

It is not possible to upgrade from a non-ballistics kestrel to a ballistics one. The actual hardware is different because the ballistics unit requires a more capable processor than the pure weather units. As herofish stated, there is a trade-in program which you can look into. Take care, -Bryan

    COL sensitivity of 300gn Hybrids?

The standard test I run on all new Hybrid bullets is to load them to jump: 0.015", 0.030", 0.045", and 0.060". Typically they all shoot about the same groups, and the 300 grain Hybrids were not an exception in my rifles: a TRG-42 in 338 LM, and a 338 Edge. The bullets grouped around .5-.7 MOA...
