    Reducing ES and SD

Once fired LC brass was fired from several different chambers. I would a least FL size to get some kind of consistent case volume working in your favor, some of those chambers may have stretched the brass enough to cause volume, case to case, to be spread quite a bit. JMHO

Rifle Scopes 30mm scope rings on Savage FCP-SR

Welcome to the "Hide", ridein4life ! I'm driving the same rifle, little different Vortex scope (6.5-20X50 PA), Warne Maxima Low rings, and EGW 20MOA base. Try not to get caught up in some of the hype you'll hear about certain hardware "you must have". You do indeed get what you pay for...

Lake City .308 LR Pulled Brass

Myself, I would prep them just as once fired brass. De-cap, size, clean, etc., to me it would be peace of mind knowing what went into making the round, especially if I was using them for precision work. If you work up a load before they are re-sized, you may have to adjust it after they...

Sleuthing the Federal Gold Medal match load... Mk 316 Mod 0?

The extreme closeness of the loaded cartridge weights is what prompted me to contact Dan about the FGMM 175 I had in my possession. I'm of the opinion (only my opinion !)the softness of the brass responds favorably to any pressure variances that might be present in this mass produced ammo...

Any difference in LC brass from different years?

This is a very timely thread. I'm currently running 03 LC LR, and just purchased 200pcs of 08 and 10 LC LR. When time allows, I'm gonna work up to my current LC LR 03 loads. My gut tells me there won't be much difference, but I'm gonna start low and work up anyhow.

208 AMAX in .308 ? BERGER JUGGERNAUT LOAD DATA?

That's why I gave part #'s, because the names are sometimes confused/mis applied, I'm especially guilty of this. To confuse it even more, I have several boxes of the OTM Tactical that are labeled "Juggernaut OTM Tactical" From Bergers FAQ section of their website - What is the difference...

208 AMAX in .308 ? BERGER JUGGERNAUT LOAD DATA?

Ditto on the OTM and VLD's being the same (Berger part #'s 30107 and 30418 respectively) Glad to hear some others are also pushing these 2700+ through a .308. I get some looks of disbelief when I tell folks the MV I get with the 185's and a low density powder. 1-10" twist 24" barreled Savage...

    Trouble with .308 Brass

Same shoulder issue here with LC brass, Winchester and Federal always chambered easy. I was able to move the shoulder back .003", problem solved. I need to take a closer look at annealing soon.

    Muzzle brake choice

Don't be afraid of the lower end brakes. I put this one on my .308 and it works extremely well for the $$ spent - 308 308 TPI Competition Compact Muzzle Brake for 5 8"x24 Pitch Free Washer | eBay I just didn't see the benefits of spending a Benjamin or more for a brake. YMMV Steve

    Berger 155 vs 175 or 185 for .308

JBM is a very useful tool, the G7 value of your projectile of choice seems to give closer numbers to real world data when get to the range. Would have to agree, 8208 is too fast for the 185's. ;)

Which Rifle Do I Pick ? Need Some Direction.

Good for you, you'll have to post some pix when it arrives (hopefully before the flakes fly). Maybe they'll get it quicker to ya than planned. :-) I was talking with someone the other day, and we came to the conclusion that shooting a RH rifle LH, could be advantageous, since your...

Which Rifle Do I Pick ? Need Some Direction.

Nice choice :D I went with the FCP-SR myself, topped it with a Vortex Viper 6.5-20X50 Work yourself up a load for it, or go with the FGMM 175's, and don't look back. Steve

Which Rifle Do I Pick ? Need Some Direction.

Lot's of folks have their favorite platforms (brands) for a multitude of reasons. If your looking to customize a rifle, I would look at the lowest cost platform that allows you to do so with the widest selection of aftermarket parts. Keep, or sell the take off parts to offset the cost of...
