Vortex Brings Back MOA/MRAD Reticle Eyepieces for Spotters in 2018

I'm actually trying to figure that out right now. The e-mail makes it look like they're releasing a "3rd Gen" 27-60x85.. but it doesn't look much different from the one I've got right now. I'm not even sure it is different.

Vortex Brings Back MOA/MRAD Reticle Eyepieces for Spotters in 2018

Just got the e-mail. Looks like there might be and updated Gen 2 Razor HD spotter, but I can't tell what the difference is. And the best thing I've heard this week: MRAD reticle eyepiece for the spotter!

The fate of the Remington 700 in 2017

I certainly did as well. My precision shooting journey, if you will, was very linear. To get to the rifle/optic/skill level I have now, I took a predictable and very common route. Also, my skill level is average, that statement was not intended to brag. I started off with a Remington 700 SPS...

The fate of the Remington 700 in 2017

I have to agree with this. My friends are all shooters and they own a lot of guns.. but they own a lot of walmart specials. I told them the rifle I was having built was $4k and they looked at me like I had a dick growing out of my forehead. They have $650 rifles and $300 scopes, and they shoot...

Hmm that makes sense. Thanks for the answer.

kestrel elite AB MV calibration vs MV table

This is something I've been trying to understand as well.... I'm happy the question was asked and answered. I'd like to add on to the original question if I can. If I shoot at sea level when it's 85*F and humid and get a certain velocity - I'll put it in the MV Temp Table. If my next data point...

    Nightforce Tripod Feedback

I’m with Clearlight, and it was also rated for a lot less weight than I thought it would be. There were much better choices out there for a rifle tripod. If it’s just for optics, the weight shouldn’t be an issue. The plate still would be obviously

Rifle Scopes Anyone remember this Leupold thread?

Seems like a few months ago Leupold announced a new line of “tactical” scopes for long range shooting, and the general consensus was that they really missed the mark. Most people were agreeing that Leupold wasn’t listening to the customer base well enough. I’ve been searching for that thread...

Getting more velocity out of 11.5" 5.56 - faster or slower burning powder?

Well I've got a 11.5" 5.56 that I enjoy plinking with, and I'm wanting to explore some different loads and get some more velocity out of this. Right now, I've got about 12 pounds of Ramshot TAC, but I don't know if I should go with something that burns slower like CFE223, or something a little...

Rifle Scopes Review of Nightforce 7-35x56 ATACR

Got to put my hands on a 7-35 today at the range.. someone let me try theirs out. It's really nice, very crisp as expected. Still has a tiny bit of tunneling on low power though. Definitely less than the 5-25 which I own.

Rifle Scopes Scope leveling - a template for all to use

I must be doing something wrong. Just stopped by Kinkos and had them print it out for me. It's 42" tall but the sheet is 36" wide. I'm getting each minor square at .33" wide and tall. Is there a particular way I need to ask them to print it for me? Griz44Mag , do you know what the secret is?

    Range Report Short barrel 6.5Creed?

I'm trying to wrap my head around how a 22" .260 with 142s is at the exact same velocity my .308 is at with a 22" barrel and 175s. I thought the whole advantage of the .260/6.5s over .308 was the additional speed. Is the only advantage a better BC? Is that how it dodges wind better than a .308...
