Curious as to how many of the rifle builders actually open up the trigger and touch the sear. I inquired on a rifle I was having built and the gunsmith told me he wouldn't touch the sear on a Remington 700 because it was very thinly chromed and you wouldn't want to remove that coating. Don't...
At least a couple of the barrel makers offer the services of chambering the barrel and truing the action. Anyone use their services and have any comments? I don't recall seeing much mention of this in any custom builds and I was thinking about giving one of them a try. PM me if you want.
Re: .260AI?
What barrel length would maximize the velocity a standard 260, and would you suggest a thicker contour to keep the barrel stiff? I'm thinking about a carry rifle so I don't want it too heavy.
Re: 6.5 Swede in a R700 short action?
Thanks. I knew it was a long cartridge but I was just wondering that if this guy really did have one built, what exactly would it take.
I saw a post where someone said they had a 6.5 Swede built on their Rem700 short action. Are major modifactions needed or is it mainly with the feeding from the magazine? Also, would it be possible to modify the magazine such that you could still utilize the 'bdl' configuration? Thanks. Rich
I'm thinking of using a Wyatt's center mag feed box for a Rem 700 build. I have an ADL donor and was planning on using a Williams bottom metal. Will this mag box function 'better' than a standard BDL box (this will be for a 260 Rem)? Thanks. Rich
A few threads lately on the T3s. Seems there is an interest in the varmit model, but it's only imported in a few calibers right now. Does anyone know what it would take to get more calibers imported? Can you special order something like this? Anyone connected to Berreta that can answer what...
Re: 6.5x55 / 6.5x47 lapua
So what would it take to get a T3 Varmit in 6.5x55 (or another of the several calibers that currently aren't imported) in the US? Is a special order through a dealer possible? Anyone here have contacts at Beretta?
