    Re: Berger VLD bullets for hunting I saw a deer shot at 40 yards this weekend with a 168 7mm vld at 2775 and was DTR. So was another one at 150 ish. Pork 'n swine didn't fare so well either exit wound size of a quarter, he was 50-60 yards.

    Re: 243 vs 6mm Rem I run a .243 with 105's in a 26in BBL @3000fps, and that's all I can get safely in my rifle. I would consider a 7-08 in a shorter barrel, they should have a better chance than the 6mms because they are not necked down as much. If you do it please post your results.

    Re: Helical Fluted Barrels? NotAGuru, I was searching this subject and found an thread somewhere that said E.R. Shaw patented helical fluted barrels in 1999 and you must pay royalties to them if you do. That could be riff-raff I was hoping someone here would know.

    I'm almost due for a barrel, and I want a PGW styled barrel. This is apparently not doable?, without buying a PGW or a E.R. Shaw barrel. PGW uses Krieger barrels the best I can tell, if they can helical flute them ,why can't anyone else? Thanks for the feedback, Kyle

    My better half is now shooting pistols of of our horses and is after me to get her a lower"spur" hammer for her Uberti .45LC. Everything I can find is about Ruger Blackhawks. So when in doubt ask the Hide. Is there a lowrise hammer I can drop in with or without the grips? Thanks, Kyle
