    Re: first handgun suggestions Some of the dedicated .22lr 1911s are very nice firearms........but there is no question that most gun owners wind up with a Ruger MKiii or 22/45. There is a reason for it. I would still stick with one of the Rugers and come back for a .22lr 1911 in the future.
