    I misspoke. I said Hawkins Hunter BDL. The Hawkins Hunter is DBM. It just looks like a BDL with the flush fit magazine.

    ARC tells me the new lighter weight CDG will feed from Hawkins Hunter BDL. My action should be here in a week or two. We will see. My complaint with the original CDG was all the stock and bottom metal fitting issues. Nothing insurmountable, but annoying.

    SAUM Enough to do the job and dead easy to load for and shoot well. The bigger boomers deliver more energy but exploit every flaw in your marksmanship skills. This is reminiscent of the 30-06 versus .308 debates. Spoiler alert: .308 won.

    ^^This^^ i also looked into longer throats and found optimized loads needed more powder to offset the greater case capacity so I’m back to standard COAL. I’m running Hammer bullets.

    Agree with the above except you should ask if they inlet the stock for the Remington BDL or the M5. Hawkins makes both.

    That's what I was afraid of. This is sounding more and more like a work in progress. I have heard reports that ARC is willing to correct these issues including machining it to run with Hunter magazines. 3.7 is not an ideal COAL for a long action.
